Can the Anat Baniel Method®️ really reduce spasticity in the hand and fingers?
Especially in children with Cerebral Palsy, brain injury or developmental delays?
In this video, Jen and Phoebe discuss where the spasticity in the muscle is generated and how addressing the muscle won’t get us the results we think it will!
So, what does the brain really need to make a change that will help to reduce spasticity?!?!
Follow along with 2 Easy and Fun Ideas to help the nervous system reduce spasticity.
We emphasize the need to shift our thinking from imagining the issue is a mechanical one to realizing that in order to make a change in your spasticity you must feed the brain (the injury/source that is causing the spasticity) with rich information so that the brain can make new connections to coordinate the muscles more efficiently and effectively.
Join Phoebe and Jen, both Certified Anat Baniel Method®️ NeuroMovement®️ Practitioners, as we talk about the source and solution for spasticity in the muscles for people with Cerebral Palsy.
But we don’t stop there! We’re so passionate about our work that we also discuss:
✅ How our bodies grow and develop in response to functional movement!
✅ The Hidden Spot to look for to help reduce spasticity in the hand.
✅ A simple song to help you bring rich information to the brain to make brain connections.
✅ The fundamental support system for the hand.

I tried this today with a beginning piano student who was clenching his hand. It totally worked!!! He relaxed his hand and had a great hand position right afterwards. What a brilliant trick to bring attention to movement…and help the brain learn new things!

Thank you helping me look at things in a different way. I have been dealing with spasticity in my left arm, hand and leg in different degrees for 20 years from Multiple Sclerosis. My Physical Therapist has been pulling on my arm and hand. I have also received Botox injections. i just keep getting worse. Time to do things different.😃
