Wiring is tough. As an electrician, and someone who does his own wiring on projects including sound off competition vehicles and Overlanders with dual batteries, fridges, solar panels etc. I get how hard it is to not only make it work but look nice as well. This truck is not only complicated, but will be a working commercial rig. Being able to maintain and repair it with the harsh terrain it will be exposed to is also super important. Great job guys!! I hope to make a vehicle on a much smaller scale to have some of the qualities of this one. Love your channel and all you do for the 4-Wheel and local community.

Thanks for sharing Chad's Fab! It appears that you did all the head scratching on the last video. It was interesting to see the wire count and lengths! Possibly another three days to get most everything working? It's surprising the amount of work that goes into a project like this. If you were not doing the work in big chunks at a time you would never realize that much or more time is dedicated to just the electrical. And to think there will probably be more added later. And that is why Matt calls the best people he knows to do the job. Stay safe healthy and happy 👍

Chad you make it look somewhat easy. I heard a story from a man who owned a automotive electrical business. It probably did/does the same type of work that you do with automotive electrical harnesses. He had a customer that lightening struck his automobile during a summer thunderstorm. We can get some nasty lightening storms during the summer down south. I live in NC. The customers auto insurance company said it was less expensive for the auto electric man to go through the whole electrical wire harness and replace the parts that were bad then to order a new wiring harness. So the auto electrical man spent 3-4 weeks rebuilding all the wiring harnesses in the customers car.

As someone that's never attempted to wire a vehicle from scratch, I can only imagine how much there is to consider and keep track of, especially with all the extras... Winches and lights and compressors, oh my! Keeping track of what wire color goes to which componant, and painstakingly double-checking the length for where it exits the loom... jeesh! Then again, when you've been doing it for years... it likely seems easy.
@chadsfab
@chadsfab Год назад

Just plain awesome work is the only way to describe the job you are doing on the wrecker. How you stay so calm and cool is beyond me. Matt could not have chosen anyone better to do the job. It even looks heavier duty than necessary just in case Matt decides to tap into a circuit in the future. I still don't understand why he had you start before the frame is either painted or powder coated. Here in Ohio the welds would be starting to show rust by now because of the humidity. Taking stuff on and off so many times seems so time consuming, but I guess that is just Matt, or maybe he's not going for the rat rod look and will send it to Robbie to make it look as good as the other two and would miss the deadline. Just have to wait to see and watch all the different channels to see how it plays out. Regardless it's going to have a professional heavy duty wire harness by Chad, the wire magician.
