I saw "vegan" and clicked faster than lightning!!! I'm so excited to see a video from non-vegans highlighting vegan food! Plant-based food has come a long way in the last decade and many omnivores are choosing plant meals when eating out. Thank you for sharing that plant-based food does mean only bland tofu and alfalfa sprouts! More, please!
Totally agree! People are getting so creative and even using mushrooms like lions mane to make vegan “steak” or king oyster mushrooms as “scallops.” I tried it at a restaurant and was blown away! 10 years ago, vegan food was just salads haha😅
I'm vegetarian so I'm excited that you are featuring a vegan restaurant. All of the food looked delicious! Vegan foods are becoming more and more mainstream and popular with the public. Whole food plant-based eating is healthy and good for the planet too!
Thank you for this, guys! I'll _definitely_ go to Peace Cafe if I'm ever back in Honolulu!! I've had a plant-based diet for 30+ years and have never found it boring or unsatisfying. Although I grew up eating meat, making the transition to veganism wasn't difficult because so many cuisines around the world have delicious vegetarian/vegan dishes. In my case, it initially worked better if I generally avoided trying to simulate the taste of meat with meat substitutes. In the last years, though, meat substitutes have improved a great deal. Veggie burgers, veggie hotdogs, veggie bacon, etc., are pretty darned satisfying if one is craving an American "fast food" type meal.👍 Shinichi and Satoshi, you're the best!! 💜💜
Liked and shared. Thanks for visiting and the curry looked absolutely delicious, not to mention how difficult it is to katsu a tofu. My husband's and my dream is to visit peace cafe in 2025, together with our Tokyo family. 😊
I love to watch you two whatever you're eating, but it's especially nice to see you showcase some vegan food! Everything looked great and exactly the kind of place I'd like to visit often, if it wasn't half a world away 😄
Aloha I went vegan for a short period and used to visit Peace cafe often. I still so on occasion because the food is good and healthy. My favorite is the Heart & Seoul which is thier Bibimbap and I love the curry katsu and I just love the Kinako Latte. The different mochi cakes are awesome too. I saw them last week at the Kaiser farmers market so that's another place to pick up thier food. Mahalo for sharing.
I'm a Sanichi 's World walking buddy / fan. Am not a TabiEats subscriber as I am whole food / plant based. Thanks for this video ... I go to Oahu often and will check it out. Hope you do more healthy eating videos ...
The veggie plate with the tofu scramble and brown rice reminds me of macrobiotic eating. It’s actually a style of eating that originates from Zen Buddhism and is super healthy for you! It’s all about eating whats in season. That plate looked so fresh and colorful😋
This video is a great example of how vegan options can satisfy even the most devoted non-vegan cravings! Im sharing this because its a perfect opportunity for others to explore the amazing world of plant-based eating and discover that they too can live cruelty-free and deliciously #VeganForTheWin
Not vegan but we eat at this great vegan place with amazing vegan sushi. They have great tacos too. Ya do more vegan stuff because a lot of it can be really good. Oh our place is called Seed Ranger.
I’m sorry but nope not for me and I just went back to Hawaii for vacation in December! I’m from Hawaii and I enjoyed all the food except that food ! I still enjoy your videos 😊🤙🤙🤙 aloha from Texas
I do not recommend their Tofu Katsu Curry. The batter for Katsu was way too thick and retained oil excessively. The curry sauce was interesting but didn't taste like curry. I liked the fresh green salad and brown rice though.
