eh there's quite a few limitations with the building truthfully. plus i wasn't much of a fan of how limited home building was. still a phenomenal game but a lot of filler stuff to it too. i haven't played bg3 myself but hear nothing but wonderful things about it. people are still streaming it now for people. not many are still streaming totk and starfield,

TOTK had HUGE initial sales, then slowed down dramatically afrer that (which makes sense TBH)

totk did far better wdym 10 million sales in 3 days and last i checked it hit 20 million don’t remember when but either ways that’s way faster than the 6 years it took botw to hit 29M

BG3 is VERY impressive

That is very true. I don't think it's meant to be completed 100%, though. It's meant to be played casually and always have something new to discover, even when you go back to the game years later. Many NPCs also have one-time remarks depending on whether you've achieved something specific. The purpose of this is to make the world feel more alive and overwhelming. Still, it can be argued that it's just bad game design, just like making the temples more open could also be seen as bad game design. BotW had a similar issue with the korok seeds before the Korok mask was added. I tend to gravitate toward games that require the community to 100% them, such as the Megaman Battle Network series, but they definitely age terribly.

BG 3 is very good. I need to get back to it, this year has been SUPER packed full of great games.

but you didnt get tired at looking at close ups of the 3 or 4 same repeated faces with different hairdos... It shows how worthless your criteria on the matter is. Inbreeding is rampant in the forgotten realms.

@@travellingman9031 well a game that has closeups of every character that talks, and rather than have a face generation algorithm like Tears of the Kingdom, where ever singular named NPC is different, you have identical faces al throughout BG3, because they only created 5 presets per race, and you will run into npcs with the same exacta face as your own playable character... A studio that cannot adress such obvious aspect... Doesn't deserve any awards, specially the year that TotK came out, which adresses that... Also BG3 has no physics, you cannot shove enemies into a cliff, if they trajectory hits a hall or even worse, and invisible wall, cause it "creates collision", and they don't program in actual physics, its all canned animations, since... well you cannot bounce against a wall... So when you cannot discern the small details that add up, because these things soar far above your head, your criteria is worthless. Ppl saying it should be the new standard, while at the same time, as you are reading this, they're still finishing and updating the games, cause the damn thing is so busted i cannot have act 3 work, and people are too damn dumb to realize BG3 still is the standard of releasing unfinished games, to be calling it "the new standard". But hey ppl like so many processed foods that they don't know what they're really made of but "tastes so good!!!"

​@triforcetimes I honestly think it's going to Baldurs Gate 3. And don't get it twisted, I absolutely ADORE totk. For me personally, it finally topped Wind Waker as my favorite Zelda title. It literally took them 20 years to top wind Waker for me. If Zelda wins this year, there's extreme bias at play. 2017 it was a win by default, that's not possible this year.

@@chrisj320ac3it’s ironic you’d say there’s bias at play. Most times I’d argue that anti-Nintendo bias is more prevalent in the game industry. Devs ditching putting games on Nintendo despite its strong sales, Nintendo constantly being left out of gaming conversations, PC and Sony fans trashing Nintendo games with the stigma that it’s “for little kids”… I honestly don’t know what pro Nintendo bias you could be talking about here.

@@chrisj320ac3 funny to see BG3 fans are having this back up reason if ever Zelda wins, goes with it must be bias reason. I guess you can't play the game independently and think it is great without dissing the other. What's so good about zelda fans is that most of em are pretty much silent atm it's cause most of them doesn't care who wins, that's just how much fun Totk has given, to the point we don't care who wins it's still gonna be the game we'll be playing for like 3-4 more years for sure.

I think it's either TOTK or BG3, hopefully TOTK

@@triforcetimes TotK is like 10 times a better game than BG3 would ever aspire to be, but you know how echo chambers and herd mentality works... Mind you, im an early access player, i have more time put into BG3, than TotK... BG3 simply is unfinished and does not even deserve to be a contender for that reason alone., it does not deserve a reward for game of the year, when they will still be working on finishing it long after they get it... And still BG3 will win GOTY, cause those awards are too ofently BS.
