On our first day in Huaraz, Peru we go on the short Willcacocha lagoon hike. It's the easiest hike in the area, perfect to acclimatize to the altitude before doing harder hikes.

Wow! That's almost 1000m higher altitude than Mexico City, and it took me a few days to adjust when I was there. You're brave to go for any sort of hike on Day 1. Also, your look of confusion when you noticed police behind you gave me a laugh 😂

I love that you're in Peru. We totally agree about acclimatizing to the altitude We went down and stayed in Urubamba for a night to start that process. Great video Elizabeth and well done. By the way could you watch our latest video as we'd love to hear your thoughts as well. We started our Peru series. YAY!

Scenery was pretty nice. So green. I've only been on one high altitude hike like that. Not sure how high it was but I do remember the stops went from every 10 minutes, to 5 minutes to 2 minutes. It was difficult when you're used to sea level. It was worth it. I'm looking forward to seeing how you do on the next one.
