They literally have a multiple person Joker theory in the comic to make it cannon and adapt to, defoe would be the old joker, who is going to be the young joker?
Maybe that will be bad I mean Jared Leto is not a bad actor but he tried too much to act like joker so if William plays it naturally it would be good but not actually trying hard just like rdj seems so effortless at potraying Ironman yet he shows so much impact through his character
@@abhinavaditya3516 no Dafoe is a better actor by miles, leto is a self indulgent fake method actor who cared more about building hype for himself with tacky publicity stunts, Dafoe when he is trying would just make it better.
@@donttrustme6262 Muerto is right. I can name tons of actors whose faces are far closer to the Joker of the comics. One of them, ironically enough, is the guy who played Penguin in the GOTHAM series.
I saw the dark knight in theaters when I was 8 years old. I’ll never forget how uncomfortable Heath made me feel. I was only really exposed to the animated series joker at the time and when I saw how heath portrayed joker I was so shocked by the difference between him and Mark Hamils version. Scared the shit out of me when he’d be talking and the music would continue to build up
Why has this not happened yet !!! I'm totally down for an arkham asylum escape movie lol. Hollywood had to have asked him at one point. Maybe he said no because the role would make him go completely mad lol.
Mane just like he was perfect for The green Goblin he is definitely perfect for the Joker it’s crazy ! He fits both perfectly and looks like both 🤣 great ass actor man
@@ajaypalsrivastava6945 That would be great if he played the best Batman villian next to the best Spiderman villian as well as play Vincent Van Gogh,Max Dracula, detective role, banging Madonna, playing Aquaman and Jesus Christ now that's a career to be proud. So gap teeth actually work😁
Imagine if three actors got the an Oscar for playing the same character? I seriously think if he played the Joker he would top all previous iterations of the character.
@@thegooseman90 Well, I don't know if I can answer that. But maybe Batman is an ageist(?) He holds a spot in his heart for Alfred though, that's a fact.
He is literally perfect. He wasnt even acting as the joker here and he was perfect. Dafoe is the type of actor they need to properly follow up Ledger and Phoenix. He could possibly be the greatest Joker ever if they cast him
@@icemav5740 Why should this be a joke? Leto had the perfect joker movements, the perfect joker laugh. It‘s like the comic book joker got straight out of the comics and into the movie. He ADAPTED the character Joker. The fact he didn‘t get an Oscar but Ledger did for a far easier role (serial killer joker without much crazy acting) to play still beyond me...
Omg what a cool concept. A new Batman or a Gotham who long ago rejected a need for Batman at all, because the technology is so good or the cops saw him as too much of a lone wolf to deal with and the old Batman is either dead or hung up the cape and retired and there is this old veteran Joker now on the town, or running the mafia scene quietly from the shadows like the Kingpin. Then suddenly a new Batman, say Terry or otherwise is back, maybe even a new take on Batgirl or BatWoman, anything would do...and he is pleased because crime has gotten dull and the age of superheroes and supervillains has died and he longs to play Cat and Mouse again....and he puts the makeup back on. William Dafoe would rock this!
@@kyorikusagami84 have you seen the studio footage of him doing his Joker voice acting??? William has a better face (and smile 😬), but you cant beat Mark's voice.
William Dafoe literally has the perfect face and demeanor for the Joker. He would be perfect for that role as much as I love Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix.
I kinda went off on a ramble.. Read at own peril. Lmao. Btw, this isn't me ragging on the peeps who like it. I just don't click with it.. I honestly just don't get the hype for the Joker film. I have nothing against Joaquin in the role of Joker, he was phenomenal and did the absolute best with what he was given.. But he wasn't given much. It's Scorcese fan fiction with so many blatant, "homages," to the guy and his work that I'm honestly surprised the production didn't end in a lawsuit. The moral is clumsy and hamfisted.. There's no nuance or subtlety to anything.. And the Gotham sucks. Nolan seems to have done irreparable damage to the live action Batman franchise when he decided to cut production costs by just making Gotham into modern Chicago. Where's the neo-noir aesthetic? The oppressive gothic architecture? It's not just aesthetics, Gotham's whole feel and look plays a large role in molding its characters. Put Bman and Joker in a neo-noir Gotham and nothing looks out of place.. Put them in the middle of Chicago and they look like cosplayers. Hopefully The Batman gets Gotham right.
@@paulpolpiboon9535 Jack Nicholson, while his performance is still great I think is the weakest of the three live action (I’m excluding Jared Leto since we’re talking about good performances)
@@user-sz6kp1tn6c actually funny enough, the director said joker from 2019 isn’t connected to it. And with Willem’s pitch for a joker movie, this could all be possible along side Phoniex’s joker
If Matt Reeves casts Willem Dafoe to be the Joker I will lose my fucking mind, Robert and Willem were amazing in The Lighthouse, it would be so cool to have them together again.
Joaquin Phoenix, Jack Nicholson, Cameron Monaghan, Mark Fucking Hamil, Cesar Romero, Michael Emerson, Zach Galifianakis, Kevin Michael, Troy Baker, and John DiMaggio > Jared Leto
HE NEEDS to be joker in Matt Reeves’s Batman films it’s a perfect opportunity, I feel like it would be perfect also because Pattinson and Dafoe have worked together and have great on screen chemistry
, he’d be the perfect joker for pattinsons Batman in future films. Can’t wait. The bar is just gettin higher for joker. We had ledger , then we got Phoenix , and hopefully we get Dafoe.
Similar to heath. Though I don't know. Hard to say without seeing dafoe get the chance to really act out scenarios. But it does remind me of that slow calm way heath ledger would talk in some scenes.
I know, rather than be an over the top insane joker he could be a calm and creepy joker. not to mention if/when he would get a little crazy or start being erratic, it would punch that much harder.
He'd kill it. He's perfect for the role; but I feel like beCAUSE everyone and their mother now is clamoring for this to happen, it's not that exciting for me to think about anymore. But if he was cast I'd probably be able to get over my popularity nitpick fairly quickly. There's that, but I also think this is the perfect opportunity to have a younger Joker face off against this younger Batman. Yes, I know, "Joker always looks old" and all that, but Brian Bolland's Joker, for instance, looks kinda young so there is precident for it IMHO
In the span of 1:45, this man was able to capture the suaveness of Jack Nicholson, the unsettling nature of Heath Ledger, and the overall look of Mark Hamill’s Joker... ... and the kicker is, he wasn’t even trying!
Jason: How does it feel, Joker? How does it feel to be the butt of the joke? (Jason leans in closer) Jason: How does it feel to be the laughingstock? (Joker makes a gurgling attempt at a laugh) Joker: You...you...(laughs)...you of all people... (Joker pauses as he stumbles into an upright position) Joker: You know why we comedians can't get our big breaks these days? (Joker staggers backwards, barely able to keep his footing) Joker: It's people...people like you, Jakey-Boy. It's... it's people like you...Jason, people like you. You heckle and you jeer, but, when it's you on the stage, that's when we know... that's when we know... (Joker flashes a big smile) Joker: You people were the real jokers all along! (Joker laughs maniacally, losing his footing. He falls off the 10-story building. The body does not make a thud.)
Hahahaha Gah dammit. That's enough Internet for tonight lmao. You sir..... Made me achieve a raspy, semi tired, coughing laugh. One of the best laughs imo

I think there thousands of possibilities like a sequel off the jorker film or in the new Batman with Robert Patterson. He could be the next villain in the next Robert Patterson movie. Or he can be an older Jorker in the joquain Phoenix universe
Well if Matt Reeves offered him a role In the second of his planned trilogy, then I think he'd consider it. Matt Reeves take on Batman is much much darker than anything previous, so I think that could be very much of interest to willem Dafoe.
Oh my god. He has to see this, seriously. He's literally the Joker without even trying. I still can't get over how good he was in the first Spiderman. We need to make this happen.
We CAN get Dafoe as older Joker to present flashback, a la Killing Joke. With Killing Joke, we get to play with Joker's background, motives, even origin, so it could work. Please find a way to do this.
@Steve Irwin its pretty obvious to me that that movie was not a canon joker, rather they took an iconic character and made a movie using it to tell a stand alone story...and i higly doubt joaquin phoenix will play joker in a mainstream dc movie
MrFredstt Considering Green Goblin is basically Spider-Man’s Joker with a personality disorder, Dafoe would be perfect for the role and I’ve been saying it since Ledger put on the makeup. And with The Lighthouse we already saw the chemistry between him and Pattinson, let’s hope Matt Reeves casts him as the Joker.
He'd be a terrifying Joker because even talking about something banal he is scary. Imagine if he was talking like this with someone bound and gagged hanging behind him.
@@danielblanchet7577 you a teacher from school? No. Then stop correcting people please.. you wouldn't like people telling you your wrong about something..
Willem Dafoe has an unusual quality to him, in that he seems like he should be ugly, but he's actually devilishly handsome. And his voice is sinister, yet kind of beautiful.
@@g.sergiusfidenas6650 That was the first movie I saw him in, too! Like you said, a while back. What I don't get is how many people get him confused with Denis Leary. I just don't see any resemblance whatsoever!
@@lilyflower9093 I can see some resemblance but very slightly, nothing like Kurt Russell and Jeff Bridges at certain times or Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Javier Bardem.
This is how I met willem dafoe.. I am an Indian and back in 2018 I was at the airport to catch my flight but an announcement was made that the flight is delayed 30 minutes. So I get off of the chair to buy water but when I came back I saw a guy sitting at my waiting chair, where I have kept my bag.. This guy was reading a book and his wife was seated in the very right chair so I sat on the very left chair to him and thought for a while the whole waiting room is full of people and we have a legend here but no one is noticing him so I asked him in his ear sir I know who you are but I won't scream of freak out because I see you enjoying reading and I don't want you get surrounded by people, selfie picture and all... He looked at me smiled and replied let's keep it secret and I agreed.. I thought he is about to enjoy his reading again but he closed the book and start talking with me.. We talked for 30 minutes and I remember every second ever precious word that he said to me..He even told me a dark secret about Hollywood.. At last I took many pictures with him but I am not a social media guy so I never posted any picture on social media.. He is really a gentleman and his wife is so gorgeous..
@Clown_prince_of_Carnage Hudson I was saying how the old batman has the head shape more akin to Willem Dafoe with the square shape. I wasn't commenting on jokers age itself. :)
And thats also why we very well might finally get our dream Joker. Because Hollywood likes to cast people for bigger movies that already proved they work well together.
In all seriousness its because he turned down the roll. Said he didnt want a role that would define the rest of his career and make him only known as "the joker". Then he went and became Green Goblin...
He es SO PERFECT!!!!! GOOD DAMN .. DEFINITIVE JOKER HELL YEAH!!

sorry but no one can beat ledger.... no one. That said I'm all for seeing him as joker... because I think everyone is kissing phoenix' ass when imo... it wasn't all tht...
The Joker actually is about 10-15 years older than batman in canon, so that wouldn't be that big of a stretch. The really life age difference is 31 years, but I'd say that suspension of disbelief could easily cut that in half if the film came out good enough
Plus if the second in Matt Reeves trilogy is tied into joker film, then it would make sense to have joker as the villain, because he basically was responsible for Bruce's parents deaths.
