Some locals do not have barking dogs. That's certainly something to check out before you sign a lease.

@@PanamaRelocationTours He must have a really good ear for Spanish. Most Americans who speak Spanish as a second language learn the words, but frequently mispronounce them because the letters are familiar but they are pronounced differently. I once met a Russian man who was totally fluent in English, but I couldn't understand a word he said because of his accent. Forty years ago, my husband and I attended the Spanish Language Institute in Costa Rica and we spent one hour per day totally focused on Spanish pronunciation and getting rid of our American accents. It was time well spent.

Rent is $500 a month for a furnished two bedroom. The pool is cleaned by the landlord. The tenant has to clean their own house or they can pay a maid $20 to do it. Rarely have electrical outages in that area. No place is perfect. But it's fun to have a NEW adventure instead of being stuck in the same old same old.

You need to make at least $1000 per month in lifetime income to qualify for the pensionado visa. Honestly, you need a minimum of $1000 a month to live a modest lifestyle in Panama. So, if your retirement income is not at least $1000 per month in lifetime income, you should rule out Panama.

rent is one thing. The price (and quality) of food, healthcare, and other things are MUCH better in Panama.

same thing in Florida. go for a hike and it is a chance you take anywhere. Here in Florida they are called chiggers.
