Meet Kris who lives in David Panama with her husband Joel. Including rent, they live on about $1200 a month in David. David is much warmer than other areas in Panama so you'll probably need air conditioning for part of the day.
David has 24-hour grocery stores, two malls, several hospitals, doctors, great restaurants, movie theaters, and all the things you need to live a comfortable life in Panama. There is an airport with flights to Panama City several times a day. There are Pacific Ocean beaches about 30 - 60 minutes away from David.

This is one of my favorite videos. Kris is very humble and likable because she has embraced our culture and people, besides she has a positive and pleasant personality. I am 52, normal American guy, and this woman is my new role model! I want to be like her ... embrace the local culture, make local friends, learn Spanish, take painting classes, maybe join a band, and sometimes visit Bocas Chica. Really love their home too. I'm with you Robert! She's a BOSS! I've travelled alone before in Europe, and California, and also took a Mediterranean cruise by myself, but SHE is SO brave! I LOVE her! She needs to be teaching classes in this whole, "moving to another country" business. I love how matter-of-fact she is about everything, and that it was HER responsibility to learn the language. If you wrote it as a movie script, people would be "no way"!

Thank you! 😊 for this video. I spent 2 months researching the Philippines! A great country with amazing people! Not really wanting to live in the USA anymore ! The Lord told me No! Panama instead! Specifically Boquette! Which I never heard of before! This thesecond time He has told me to move to a city I have never heard of! I will also follow and Obey Him this time too! Absolutely love your positive outlook and approach to living in Panama. I have been using a phrase lately..."if I wanted to keep what I have in Canada why would I leave my country"? I could never have tropical weather here regardless of being rich or poor and at this stage of my life that is what I am looking for...warmth!! Remain outside the US 335 days per calandar year and you will enjoy a US Income Tax Exemption of $107,300. Panama will not tax that income. Care to try it ship cargos are up for bids. Whol or part ship, wqhole or partial shipping container.

There's music in David and other areas, and especially in Boquete. We feel like we are part of a musician family of both Panamanians and gringos. It's really nice. BTW March is the height of the summer heat. We are even whining a bit by then, so don't judge the climate here by those few weeks at the end of summer.

I’m a singer/songwriter I play guitar (and some bass and keys) turned digital content creator. Hi Nikki, we are planning on moving to Panama for retirement also. We have never been there yet and planning to visit David, Panama the end of March this year. We would live to meet somebody there who would give us a your or help with the language barrier. We speak Polish and English of course.

I married into it and don't know the language... 🙂 I ended up renting in Boquete which has a lot of English speaking retirees and younger people. David has very hot weather and is a larger city than Boquete. I may try it after my lease is finished. There are friendly people and groups of different interests. Let me know if I can help you with anything. March is the end of summer and then it goes back to rainy season. (Usually it rains in the afternoon - 2 or 3p.m.) I just watch the clouds coming from the hills and the Volcano Baru. I can see the rain coming! Safe travels. I hope to meet you in March.

You are absolutely gorgeous in your positive vibes attitude. I was blessed to see Panama In August of 2021 .I stayed in Panama city old Town part,I traveled too parts of the pacific ocean side. Isa iguana island 🏝it was fantastic. I drove to see the country side. Yes, its a pretty Kool place and fantastic people and culture. I am also in Florida. So heat is all I know. sometimes we need to slow down and refocus....and I notice here in America everything is so fast or too overindulging in material things...sometimes I wonder where the humbleness went...I'm one that does not live over my means of things....and keeping my cool is very important for better health and spirit...I thank Ms. Kris for the information on this beautiful place...I'm Puerto Rican 3rd generation in the USA, but PR is not like it use to be....so that is out of the question to live or buy....just visiting.

That’s was some great info. So useful to us considering moving down there. Who did you contact at Panama tours to give you a list of homes in the price range you felt comfortable with? Perhaps it’s the area where I live, but I don’t ever feel judged, I don’t feel unsafe, and people are friendly and helpful. It’s also in the US, so no language barriers.

Kris - Great Video. You obviously love your life. I lived in Venezuela for several years and had to leave when Chavez was elected. I would go back in a heartbeat if it was different. Have been looking seriously at Panama for a couple years now. You have given me a good handle on life in your area. As long as Panama doesn’t require the jab or go crazy like Austria/Australia with the tyranny - Then all is well. Cost of living here in US is becoming untenable for those of us on a fixed income.

Very inspiring person and great video. I would like to emigrate to David immediately. I'm from Switzerland and I don't like the climate here. I am planning to sell my house here. Foreigners cannot work in Panama unless you get a work permit. Only certain visas allow you to get a work permit
