Willys Cj2a Jeep with Kubota Turbo Diesel swap 

Heavy sound just like international B-275 diesel fomerly fitted by Mahindra to their jeep since 1975 to 1994.

This engine gave my old Jeep a new lease on life. I find where I used to be rowing through the gears to make up for the old flathead's lack of power on a hill, I can just drop the hammer and watch the boost climb up as you crest the hill flawlessly. The basic kit comes with replacement engine mounts, Overland Diesel Kubota/ T90 adapter plate and converted flywheel to use the original Jeep clutch set up. Thanks for watching!

This adapter plate will allow you to bolt any of the Kubota 03 Series diesels to your T90. These engines are used in all kinds of industrial machinery ( Truck Reefer units/Bobcat/ Thomas skidsteers, Jacobsen,Ransomes to name a few) and can be found on Ebay, etc. cheap compared to overhauling a 134 F/L. Look for V2003MT/ V2203 or V2403 to get started. It doesn't have to be a new engine to re power your old Jeep ;)

Wow sombody had a damn good idea coming up with this. just the engine most people who run a cj2a for more than just a museum piece are going to want.

I hot a land rover defender 19j turbo for free and am thinking about swapping it into my 45. Might just try the baby turbo first

+Willysjeeper Hey i am a 1948 cj2a owner, doesn´t that engine makes the cj2a too "nose heavy". The best diesel engine swap as far as i know is a mercedes 240D engine because is light, has 65-72HP and was about as torq has the original jeep engine. Its a great engine swap, you just have to make a custom adaptor to the transmission. Kind Regards

I go as fast as I could with the original engine without the fear of throwing a rod through the block! The engine is governed at 2800 RPM where it can run 24 Hrs a day if you wanted too. As for mileage, I know I can 4 wheel all day without fear of running out like I did with the gasser. I don't commute with it, so an accurate fuel consumption record has not been made. What`s the MPG, what`s the top speed? Is it street legal? How`s it drive?

So your saying buying this kit and a kubota engine is cheaper than rebuilding the original engine? how much is the kit?

What gear ratio is your rear end? 3.55? Does it have enough power going up hills?

Check out Overland Diesel for these conversion kits... They make a good jeep a great one .. I've been out and wheeled with WillysJeeper and between us we've had over a hundred of them through the years ; have seen every conversion there is and have tried them ... The Kubota looks like the factory designed it there and double out performs the L and F heads .... I'm a purist myself but still clearly see the Kubota diesel engine [especially the factory turbo or added turbo'd ones] as the connection that this jeep needs ... The V2003 M T is rated at 60 H.P@2800 out of the box. Rprm adjustment and fuel rack travel adjustment will net more though. The spec.chart shows torque at 120 ft/lbs carrying steady from 1400 to 2300 rpm.
