Aqui no Brasil faltou willys a diesel. Se a willys tivesse motor diesel igual esse aí ela teria feito o maior sucesso. Parabéns pelo jeep diesel Aqui no Brasil vale uma fortuna.
I tell ya man it is a really fun little motor for these old jeeps. Since I put up this video I swapped both axles for Dana 44s that I narrowed. Using 4.56 gears now. That was fun for a few months before something came apart in my transfer case. Now I am almost ready to put in a t98 transmission and d18 with terra low 3:1 low range. Lots of good times and hopefully a new you tube video in the near future.
@@mattbranstetter4072 hmm I was hoping on using everything stock on crusty that's its name but do you think it has too much power or if I fix everything up it should be ok also if you want to see pictures of it my Instagram is jeeps_are_a_drug
@@oreokingjr6965 I don't think it has too much power for the stock equipment. My axles and transmission were just in poor shape from neglect by previous owners.
@@oreokingjr6965 flat crusing on the highway is comfortable around 63 mph in OD with a max speed of about 71. It slows for hills and grades and I shift out of OD to keep my EGTs to an acceptable level.
Super cool repower, theres 2 of these on my CL cheap and need work, im thinking of pulling the trigger and repowering I have a Mercedes 4 banger but also thinking of other diesel options
freakin sweet!!! i want to put a 4bt in my cj6. waggy dana 44's, nv4500 and a warn od in the tcase. double od drops rpm to 1575ish at 80. should do well. i just hope it purrs like this. =)
rowdy hansen 4bt’s are too heavy imo. I know plenty of people do it, but thats a good 1,500lbs. Id go with a mercedes diesel from mercedesdiesel4x4.com or a volkswagen 1.9tdi.
Hey thanks! You know what I wish this thing would idle that low but its really gets a nasty lope and gets bogged by the alternator load. Happiest at 1200rpm for all around smooth idle. Do you have experience with the v2203? I'd be interested to hear suggestions
@@mattbranstetter4072 Hi! No i have no experience with the Kubota diesel but i like to watch diesel conversions in Jeeps. I once swapped a Mercedes om616 240d in a CJ-5 Back in the days. I used the 4speed Mercedes gearbox from a Mercedes transporter and made an adapter plate to mate it to the jeep teansferbox. It still works great and the jeep is fun. I run it on 31-10.5-15 tyres and 4.09:1 axle ratio. I couldn't go bigger on tyres as the rpm would drop too much. Mercedes diesels are quite revving and they don't like to be lugged. I have 3000 rpm at 62.5 mi/h- 100km/h. Which is fine. I like the way that my mecedes idles so nice and so when i heard your Kubota i thougt it would maybe idle that nice with lowering the rmp. But as you told now it will not. I tweaked around a bit with the idle setting on mine. On some rpm everything would start to rattle in the car so i tweeked it to find the sweet spot. I like that the kuboto has a turbo. Gives you loads of torque👍 Your Jeep is Great!
If you mean the governor spring, yes. I have been using that spring for 5 years now. I also have turned the fuel up an unknown amount of turns since then. If you haven't adjusted the fuel that may be your limiting factor. I pretty much tuned the added fuel by watching the EGT gauge and trial and error. I need to make an updated video. I just finished my air to water Intercooler and I have built dana 44s with 4.56 gears. I can cruise comfortably at 65mph in OD. If turning the fuel up doesn't help or EGTS are objectionable I would be interested to hear exactly what application your motor came from and what the timing spec is. Timing can make a huge difference.
@@mattbranstetter4072 good info man thank you. My motor came from a carrier refer unit. I have not done a thing to it other than putting it in the jeep. This is my first diesel and it’s a far cry from the sbc’s I grew up working on so I’m learning as I go. Thanks for the info.

Jake Palmer I used a kubota factory oil pan from a different application. I think it was for a bobcat. parts-barn.com/index.php/02-03-new-oil-pan-with-out-plugs.html
By using Mahindra DI turbo diesel engine from India with Five Transmision four wheem you have got 15km/liter diesel. Its spares are cheap and easily available from India.OE Mahindra parts and identical parts are available through India.
Today it is sitting in the garage waiting for a T98a transmission and new t case with terra low gears. Should have it back on the road pretty soon I hope!
Since making this video I have changed turbos and added air to water intercooling. I think I'm around 90 to a 100 horse and thinking torque should be around 200 ft/lbs
