Thanx Tim. I tried both irons and compared them to the likes of Mizuno (2 different irons/shaft combos), Ping (replaced my i500s), Callaway, Srixon, TM and Titleist. Walked away with the D7 forged. Not sure if it was the shaft/head combo or what but it felt better on all strikes than the D9 forged. The D9 was tied with the Miz 921 forged for second but the D7 was hands down better for feel, at least for me.
Great to see you back Tim . Just changed my 25 year old Wilson fire stick irons ⛳️🏌️♀️👍👍 They do look like a great iron , no offset , sit nice on the ground . Very underrated these irons are . Great video
Thanks for the comparison, When I tried the D7 forged I found the shape to be bit tall and squat Preferring the TM P790 because of the blade length looking slightly longer. How is the D9 in blade length? I have looked online but can't find any data
I played the D7 irons for a while until they started rusting where the back plate is. Wilson replaced them and said they had never seen that before. I have since seen two other sets that have rusted. So, this D9 looks similar, and I am a little concerned it may happen again.
@@TimElliottGolf at least with these being forged, they could be bent a degree or 2 weaker very easily and then could fit a slower swing speed. For other cast clubs that might be a struggle
