I think Lee Mack has the quickest wit on UK TV. He's a stand-up comedian so it helps. Also the contrast in personalities between David Mitchell (the school teacher) and Lee Mack (the naughty boy in class) is gold.
Lee so quick to think of actress Una Stubbs character she played called aunt Sally Doesn't matter if he lying or not , can never take a drink watching Lee I spit it up 🤮
They do slip in some unlikely ones for Lee and David and it's always fun . He is so quick witted ,they've been going at it for so long but occasionally - just occasionally it's true .
I remember fancy dress at school, I went as Worzel Gummidge and spent my lunch break standing like a scarecrow.. How childhood has changed over the years.
The producers always have fun with Lee because they know how quick he thinks on his feet & does a lot of improv in his comedy acting series’. Similar to the guys on “Whose Line is it anyway”, like Ryan Stiles when he acted in “Two & a Half Men”, they just threw him in and watched him do his thing, hardly even needed to write lines for him because he’s natural. Will Ferrell is like this too in his movies. You guys should check out “Not Going Out”, a show that Lee wrote & starred in. It’s pretty funny!
Lee has a brilliantly tuned brain and is so witty on this series; and damned quick. However, Bob Mortimer has to be king at it, as he has actually done some weird and insane things in his life.
You're a teacher! It's not "if he's lying or not", the correct word is "whether". If is subjunctive as in, "if we go to the beach, we should bring sandals". - The Grammar Sheriff
One of the Catsdown episodes Lee and Roisin Conaty have a fun moment about when Roisin met Lee’s wife for the first time. I’m not sure it’s been isolated as a clip because it just goes by as banter but maybe someone can remember where it was. Well worth hunting for. 😊
Given they've been doing this for over 10 years, there's little 'new' they can reveal, so the show makers deliberately give the captains ridiculous things to say, just to see what they can make up. Lee is always given very silly things to do. See 'keys' and 'motorway map'.
Very True but given David and Lee are clever, there is, definitely,an element of "Show Business" when,in a particular circumstance, they say LIE because in situations that occur, once in a while,it is ALWAYS "True" and if I realized this,a long time ago, then they would have done but they "play the game"...lol
Don’t cook tonight, anyway show her who’s boss😂😂😂 Good luck with that one If you take my advice, I will know on the next video you’ll have a blackeye😂😂
it's one of those that are obviously ridiculous and only there to bring out the best in Lee Mack (and David). Often you can spot it by David taking it comically seriously.
You're the type of guy who'd go on a first date and let her win at billiards, even though she's never played the game! Come on, Nick, deep down you knew that story wasn't true. Pathetic.
