1892 this evening, and it’s a good one. This is the most original piece I own as a part of this series. My great uncle purchased it off of a movie set in Burbank, CA. It was produced in 1910- quite the little piece of history.
Comment below with your stories, suggestions on our next series, and whatever else you’d like to share about vintage firearms.

Every time strip down a John Browning-designed firearm, I have to marvel at the mechanical genius it took to visualize how all those parts work together. Pure genius.

My Family is rich in the Browning heritage. My 4x great grandfather lived with John Browning's father and worked for him in Mountain Green Utah. John's father was also a gunsmith and built muzzle loading firearms back then. My GGGGF was given one of his rifles as part payment for working for him. Wish I knew what happened to it. Rumors are that he sold it to help pay for his wife and children to come to Utah to one again live with him Now moving forward, my Uncle was a designer for Browning and developed several Browning handguns in the 50's,60's and 70's.

First time I remember this rifle I was a kid watching The Searchers and John Wayne was holding it up across a river and damn I just knew someday I'd own one!
