Testing out different hunting ammo for the 350 Legend! Using a 16 inch bear creek upper AR 15 platform. 145 GR practice ammo........150 GR power point.........180 GR soft point!!!
Hi from Pennsylvania. The new rounds are good. But there will never be a replacement of the 30-30. Mine is an 1894 made in 1904. It's been my rifle since my grandpaps passed and then it became mine. It's taken more game than you could haul in a truck. Including 2 moose in Alaska when I lived there. I'm 30-30 hunter since I started in 1978. Till I'm passed myself.😊
I know right lol 30-30 has a better BC and can carry its energy further I'm guessing the reason, heavy and bigger 35 cal starts dropping faster after 200-300 yards.
Absolutely 350 legend 180 grain is the new 30-30 and it kicks less. I have my savage axis zeroed at 100 yards and it has a group the size of a quarter. In the deep forest where I hunt, perfect.
With a 350 legend a 24 inch barrel vs a 16 inch only gains 100 feet per second. A 8 inch spread between the two is equivalent to 12 FPS give or take. Not a lot of powder left to make a big difference. Thank you for watching.
Same rounds that are in the video all 3 grain weights sent back factory they said they fixed it by replacing the barrel and chamber but same issue still exists but have not tried any other brands since I bought 400 rounds during the shutdown when it was 12 dollars a box before it became a popular cartridge. It’s a killer round
Yes, absolutely 💯 Full pass through and no issues tracking, 30 or 40 yards max Also 2 doe last year with one with the 150 other with the 180 laid where they stood. I like the 150 less drop up to 200 yards! Close to 30-30 on ballistics for us straight wall states.
@@preacherbiggin Thank you! Yeah one was but honestly wasn't needed! Good shot placement behind the shoulder was just as good. I've been considering getting into suppressors, hopefully one day! i think the 180 GR will drive deeper if you're hunting bigger that white tail, shown with the water jugs. ill have to pick up a bolt gun one day!
🇦🇺😎👍4x12x40 is the bestest size. Years ago 80-90s 3-9x40 was the go but I think the 12 is that little bit better. A little bit range and hunting friendly😉👍
I wouldn't buy anything Winchester since their quality control sucks why in the blue hell did I buy a new box of ammo and have to clean the rust off each bullet made of brass huh
