@bleepinjeep
@bleepinjeep 9 лет назад
Stan Juan Shesshh, I never knew popping a roll pin out would cause such an outcry! This is a real Jeep, not a mall crawler. Shit happens, I put a bolt in its place and didn't think twice about it. Nothing dangerous, nothing broken, no harm done. (The lights were already broken from wheeling). Yes, we do wheel hard and get into some scary situations but you don't have to be doing anything dangerous to get into a predicament... One could just be driving down a snowy road and go off the embankment and find themselves in a situation like this that requires a side pull from a winch. It doesn't hurt to know all your options, in fact, as PBS always says, "the more you know..." ;)

BleepinJeep This is true i had to do that exact same side pull on my friends farm just when we were doing property clearing, the roller broke but i came away with no damage and got out of a sticky situation

I have used that sideways pull with my 1 ton and a 30 ft gooseneck. I hooked on a tree farther ahead to protect my front equipment. Swapped the hook from the rear of the truck to the rear of the trailer and sidled my way up and out of a mud hole. VERY USEFUL! I enjoyed the video and your humor. Just subscribed.

Hi, wonderful video. Small question if I may, what would be more important to have first? A good lighting, winch or air compressor system? I'm going to get one but not sure which would be more important. Any advice would be great. Thanks
@mattlewandowski73
@mattlewandowski73 9 лет назад
winch and a proper recovery kit. headlights and maybe some cheap flood lights on the bumper are actually enough lighting to do MOST forms of wheeling (unless you are into desert racing)... likewise a cheap portable air compressor can do the job (it will take a lot longer, but it works)... get the best winch you can afford... and get a proper self recovery kit... even then going wheeling alone is not a smart thing to do. always travel with a buddy... wheeling is a hobby that is more fun in small groups.

I'm not remotely phased by your demon infused mustache because you presented some seriously damn good informative winch information, and old school pully info I used to know, for which I learned much. Except for the last lesson, which appear to be just a fancy way to break a light.
