A tribute to the great Steve McQueen and the timeless Faye Dunaway from the classic "Thomas Crown Affair" dubbed with the music of the incomparable Sting.
The first time I became aware of this song was due to the movie, Thomas Crown affair; one of my wife's all time favorites so I've seen it a number of times. Great movie, great soundtrack and this is one of my favorites!
One of my top5 favorite films, love this scene, the Seduction scene. Faye's character toys with Mr. Crown, she gets him all stirred up and coyly acts as if she doesn't know what she's doing. Playing man versus woman games. No need for crude language, gratuitous sex scenes. And the original music builds up the momentum. More is said in the closeup of their eyes, their expressions, their lips. Nothing needs to be said. We know where they will end up when he says "let's play something else" and kisses her. They had great charisma.
loved this version of windmills of your mind by Sting, hes got such a distinctive voice beautiful, hes been my favourite singer for years ,also had the good fortune to see him twice.second time he actually shook my hand will treasure that forever.
This chess scene is so incredibly sexy... An absolutely stunning Faye Dunaway and the great rendition by Sting (although Noel Harrison's will always be unbeatable).
MUSIC: Michel LEGRAND LYRICS: Alan and Marilyn BERGMAN Round. Like a circle in a spiral Like a wheel within a wheel Never ending on beginning On an ever-spinning reel Like a snowball down a mountain Or a carnival balloon Like a carousel that's turning Running rings around the moon Like a clock whose hands are sweeping Past the minutes on its face And the world is like an apple Whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind Like a tunnel that you follow To a tunnel of its own Down a hollow to a cavern Where the sun has never shone Like a door that keeps revolving a half-forgotten dream Or the ripples from a pebble Someone tosses in a stream Like a clock whose hands are sweeping Past the minutes of its face And the world is like an apple Whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find the windmills of your mind Keys that jingle in your pocket Words that jangle in your head Why did summer go so quickly? Was it something that I said? Lovers walk along a shore And leave their footprints in the sand Was the sound of distant drumming Just the fingers of your hand? Pictures hanging in a hallway And the fragment of a song Half-remembered names and faces But to whom do they belong? When you knew that it was over You were suddenly aware That the autumn leaves were turning To the color of his hair? Like a circle in a spiral Like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning On an ever-spinning reel As the images unwind Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind.
OMG! This chess scene... Steve & Faye is something else! ;) Plus Michel Legrand music and Sting's version makes it the work of art really. WOW Thanks for the video. I really need to watch this old version.
