Hello guys! Most of the times regulator and motor failure is due to the bad tune of the glass in their channel ways. Doing maintenance on the regulator and at the same time checking the free motion of the glass ensures that the system lasts you much longer!

I bought all the repair parts for the windows, including the cable assembly and the two types of silicone grease. Now I know how to fit them! LOL Thanks.

Thank you for showing the adjustment for the window channel! My driver side window isn't properly lined up atm which is causing the door seal to not fully seal resulting in wind noise at speed!

I spent an hour trying get a manual system out to replace with an electric system on a 156. I was struggling and thought "hmmm, wonder if Bruno has anything on it" 🙂

Hello. I'm glad I've been able to help you. Do you mean that side glass guide that works inside of the rubber? If it is, you have to remove the glass all the way out. Then remove the rubber and only then the glass out.

Hah, got notification for this just now and driver's door regulator failed on my e39 today. I'm pulling it out right now (failed plastic pulley) and have genuine used on eBay to replace. Been here, done this before, so all good.

Hi Bruno it looks like I have to do this job tomorrow because of ice on the window (yes, in late April!) and so something broke or maybe the cable has come unwound from the spool? Now the motor makes a sound for 1 second then stops. Thanks for your video on this

Hello. Yes, I believe so. I know it's synthetic and good for plastics.

What kind of grease do you use? Is it PTFE or Lithium grease? I'm asking because one of rear windows in my 159 just dropped in :)

Hello. In this case I use PTFE, better for plastics and water.

What spray did you use to clean the grease out of plastic? And can you tell me what specific synthetic white grease did you used? Because I can't seem to find such grease in stores.

Hello. To clean was just some brake cleaner. The grease you can see it on the video. Don't remember now.. very common on hardware stores.
