I found out for my computer it's the Nvidia graphics cards causing the issue. The new update causes the computer brightness issue. Unless I open Nvidia control panel (under Adjust Desktop colour settings) and adjust the brightness there it will not function in the windows settings. If I revert back to original Nvidia settings I get a warning that a critical update is needed. Yet the the brightness will function just fine with no issues. I find this odd 🤔.

Having the same issue on my laptop. Very frustrating, glad i found this at least i can stop burning my retinas a little bit. The night mode stopped working when I updated the driver again now. Previously(15 minutes ago) I could still turn night mode on and off but can't now unless I tick the box and reinstall the driver, when the screen flashes it will be in night mode. Such a phenomenal waste of time. And this is a new $3000 laptop. So frustrating..

If I want to turn night mode on i have to install the driver from the list while night mode button is activated, and vice versa to turn it off. If I use my brightness slider it will do nothing, if i click the night mode button off and on nothing happens. I think if i put the slider at 50% brightness it will be at 50% brightness once i reinstall the driver also. This didn't happen until my most recent video card driver but I've install things all the time so it's hard to pinpoint what possibly could have caused this. Just wish I could adjust my laptop display with a press of a button again. The laptop is in flawless condition and I've had it for less than a year

Once again a great video! Thanks. I do have a question. When I try to brighten the screen it shows that i am at the maximum brightness already(the brightness slider works). But when I attach the charging cable the screen gets significantly brighter than maximum. Is there a way to have more brightness when laptop is not charging? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mate. Yes We Can do that with apps from Microsoft Store. However I would not recommend that Mate because it will put extra load on the Laptop as well as battery. 👍
