This video shows how to fix the problem of missing USB 3.0 drivers during Windows 7 installation. The error message says “A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now”.
This happens because the USB controller chip on the laptop is not recognized by Windows 7, so Windows 7 is unable to reach or access the computer hard disk because the USB lacks the required driver which is the USB 3.0 driver. Here I’ve simplified the driver installation process into two basic steps;
Step 1: Download the Gigabyte's Windows 7 USB Installation Tool from here: drive.google.c... .
Step 2: Extract and install the USB driver using Gigabyte's Windows 7 USB Installation Tool as shown in the video.

Ok, I really liked your video, professional, clear and thank you for the links. I did each step as you said and I still come up with the "Missing Driver" error. It does take considerably longer to get to the error however the error is still hanging me up. Got any more ideas? I am desperately trying to bring my friends WIN 10 back to WIN 7. I need to format the drive which is a SSD stick on the motherboard. Dell insperation... all out of ideas.

downloading Windows USB Installation tool: but many choices, look up my CPU and it's Intel Celeron. choices are: "Support intel Z370 series" , "Support Intel 100/200/X299 series", "Support Intel Braswell series". my Laptop says Intel Celeron, but there is no support for intel celeron

Did this exact method and still have the same problem. I've unplugged the USB and plugged it back in during the main install screen and that didn't help. I've changed UEFI to legacy, turned usb 3.0 off and even changed usb ports, all failing to get passed this error code. What am I doing wrong?

@@Guy-b6dI was installing on a newer MOBO/cpu combo that needed the drivers injected before the install. After that there was still a couple problems but tbh, I forgot what we did to fix it. At the end of the day, we got it installed properly 👍

hey, I installed windows 7 to a windows 10 laptop with this trick but the problem is my windows 7 OS still doesn't have USB drivers after installation and windows update can't find the drivers. the manufacturer doesn't have windows 7 usb drivers for it either. is it possible one of the usb drivers could be installed to the os from that mb utility program folder? edit: never mind. actually upon showing the root folder of USB inside mb utility thing to device manager, it found the correct drivers and installed them.

Hi, this worked perfectly, and so I was able to install Windows 7 Pro 64-bit via a boot/install flash drive... BUT... when I inserted another USB flash drive to install the drivers, it won't recognize the drive! The computer is a Dell Optiplex 7050 Micro (no optical drive). So now I have a PC that has Windows loaded, but I can't install anything else because it doesn't see the flash drive when I plug it in. I can't connect to the internet either, because I need the wifi/ethernet drivers as well.. Can you kindly advise as to what I can try? Thanks.....

It Is Never Clarified WHEN You Insert The Flash Drive. I Saw You Inserted The Flash Drive At Least 3 Times. At The Beginning. ( The Video Is Very Blurry ) Then Again, And Then Again At The End, After You "Extracted" The Files. So My Question Is, Why Do You Insert The Flash Drive First Then Turn On The PC? Then It Is Not Explained/Clarified, When You Remove It. Then It Is Inserted Again, But Never Mentioned When To Remove It. Then Again, At The End, You Say To Insert The Flash Drive Again, When Installing The CD Drivers. Please Make This Video User Friendly By Telling Us When The Flash Drive Is Inserted And Then Removed.

Thanks works like a charm. In my case I just needed the first option, the USB drivers. NVME is probably so the installer recognizes NVME drive so you can install windows on it, no idea what the third option is about. In my case it was sata pcie SSD so it was fine with only USB drivers.

These steps may work fine, but if you have no operating system on the computer you're installing windows 7 on then you can't open any folders. I have the DVD but it comes up with the same errors

(1). use 64bit (2). use RUFUS (or microsoft windows media creation tool) to setup an 8gb flash drive from your win 7 DVD. (3) use the usb install tool to add in addition to what rufus did, instructed by this video. (4) Try USB 2.0 Ports instead of 1.1

This did not work for my Asus u47a laptop. The pc had Win8 on it (Was designed for Win7) I slow formatted hard drive, but upon boot the pc thought it was trying to repair Win8 (Hidden partition that did not format?)Tried 2 different gigabyte apps, the one you suggested, and one for Intel chip set. tks for the video, im trying to use it, but i cannot make it works, i finish the proccess but when i try to use the usb to install windows it keeps saying that i need a driver. any advice? tks in advance

done, just change the usb stick to another usb port, in this case a non 3.0 and i works, tks mate

I have this problem like this vedio. I use laptop dell vostro 3750 (corei5 gen2. 2410 ) . I try to install win7pro 64bit but missing cd/dvd device driver. I 'm doubt why this problem concern about usb3 controller driver because I think my usb 3.0 port is fuction aleady because it can boot flash drive via usb 3.0 port.
