Great video once again Brian. I have the first version of win8/64bit and I was wondering if you could show us how to slipstream it to make it 8.1 and put in all the updates so if we do use the recovery, we dont have hours n hours of downloads and reboots. Cheers mate!

Questions: can you delete the 450mb partition (it's between C & D), can you add a folder of system drivers to the new recovery somehow? It'd be great if only the drivers were there & not all the junkware from oems. Lastly, can the oem recovery be "relocated" to the end of the HDD? Cheers from AU & thank you!

Hi thanks, that doesn't seem so much like a recovery as it does a clean re-install since your using the windows install files. A true recovery would be getting your system back to the state when you first set it up. Also...what if I wanted that recovery partition hidden and activated by pressing a key combination at boot up like the "Fnc + F3" keys... any ideas?

For my HP Pavilion G7, I just hit all the fkeys on start up and did a clean image reset, I copied all my files I wanted to keep to onedrive. I'm planning on turning this PC into a gaming PC and much of the software like the audio was completely corrupted so I'm hoping this will fix the problem.

i wanted to run some scans outside of my OS to make sure my system wasn't infected , since my laptop wasn't shipped with a recovery disc/install disc i was told to access my recovery partitions that came default on my system, my question is how do i go about accessing these factory recovery partitions?

How come we remove the "choose hd option"? I want to automatically boot to my OS, and not ask which of the 2 I prefer. I would appreciate the feedback. Thanks

My Dell System recovery partition got corrupted while i was creating drives by Ease Us. Could you please tell how to create once again using same space? Does Easy BCD(free version) works with Pro version of Windows?

what if the recovery partition is missing and the machine cannot boot how do you recreate it?

[reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key] i got the same this type of problem and i don't no whats the problem ,but i formatted the hard disk still i am getting this problem . i tried to install windows 8.1 when the partition menu pop ups ,I got this type of message {Windows cannot be installed to this disk. this computer hard ware maynot support booting to this disk .ensure that disk controller is enabled in the computers bios menu } And second message is {we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one . For more information see the setup log files } Plz help me to get rid out of this problem.

How to make system recovery drive after installing drivers.

I didn't create recovery disk for my laptop....I don't that the window8 disk...someone told me that each computer has a recovery partition to reset to how it was when it was purchased...any help would be appreciated...I have virus's that I need to get rid of. I have copied all my file

John D (Villian 159) mentions that this IS a true recovery. Sorry John but it isn't. It is a clean Installation. If it was a Recovery then you would have the appropriate drivers injected into the install media as well as any software that was required. Just think about the Factory Default Recovery image that now sits on a hidden (usually) partition. It contains all the drivers and crapware the company likes to burden you with and bloat your HDD. :-) Britec09, good attempt with clear annunciation that was easily understandable and slow enough for most to follow. My only constructive criticism graphically is that your screen res was too big. Oh so many portable devices now run a screen res of 1366 x 768 (me included) and it did make it slightly distracting. Thanks. :-)
