Windows! No welding? Am I crazy?

In this video I take you through my process for the two windows I put in my container studio. I have one west facing and one north facing. I have used kiln dried timber framing to place in to the holes I've cut. The windows themselves are recycled.

First time I’ve seen it done with wood and I think you’re on to something bud. I don’t know how to weld either and aesthetically with a nice stain and an exterior varnish fagetaboutit. Is that what you did or did you just paint it ?

Had you considered installing a simple drip rail above the top 2x4? Seems that would prevent water ingress along the top frame.

Always prime and paint the bare cut edge or it will rust like crazy... you must allow for expansion and contraction of the metal sides in the cold and Heat...

not sure if I am a fan of using 2x4 to install the windows. over time its going to mildew

If you are going to do this use at least a 6 grinder, much more power, i used a 9 , went thru it like butter
