Windows User Tries MacBook M2 For the First Time! 

The hesitation at the end when recommending the 2 Lac Macbook Pro was genuine. 😀

As a long-term desktop user I finally bought my first laptop which is m2 macbook air 512gb and I am pretty impressed with this machine 🌝

One of the major insight comparison is the ssd speed (M1 Air > M2 air 256gb), M2 air other storage varient is slightly greater than M1 Air . You can feel it evidently when you use it, so on the whole M1 Air is still the beast which can statisfy 99 percent user out there!

I’ve been a long time windows user and since last year I have added mac to my day to day use along my windows pc. Now I use windows just for gaming and mac is my go to OS for working.

This dude is straight-up confident and charming 🙌

As a personal user of MAC and Windows both, Mac is good for Programming, Music and Art compilations like video editing and con is less storage, works well on BATTERY ONLY WITH MAC APPS NOT THIRD PARTY APPS. Windows are good for programming, storage, editing (ADOBE) though the con is same annoying always require booting on any update .

as a Mac user from when I was around 12 😂 now 18 I got something Clear in the Macs, if u want the best experience use first party apps such as pages, safari or even for songs go for Apple Music and all, take experience up a notch cause of its freakishly ease to use and compatibility and for the other thing he mentioned, gestures is a big part of the experience, the godly trackpad is a blessing, switching apps, tabs, windows etc. is easy once u get the hang of it, and as for external use such as side car if u have a iPad is a terrific experience in itself, as a teen even I play games and so a pc is a mandatory thing but for studies and anything other than gaming Mac is better, obv in compared to pricing that is, If u compare it to the highest end windows with like 4090 and all, obviously it will be faster because of its 4-7 times the cost but in general case u would be more than happy with a Mac

I am using Macbook M1 pro 16” for one year.. I run Microsoft Visual Stuido, VS Code, Azure Data studio for intensive software development work. It gives me full power and great battery life. M1 pro 16 inch is around 2.4 lakhs but worth the price with respect to the value it delivers. Prior to Mac, I was using Dell Latitude core i9 machine with 64 GB RAM but the mac delivers performance really more efficiently than windows. Mac OS is master in resource management.

Most in India are already used to windows operating system, so even though M2 MacBooks blow everything else away in their price range, they're a slightly tough sell for non official users just because of the OS imo.

for preview in windows, you don't have to open file each time, go to file explorer hit alt+p then select the file, you will see its preview in right side

hey, just a clarification because i see a lot of people get confused when terms like "heavy video editing" are thrown. ive been using the m1 air for some time now. for most of the youtubers, film makers or influencers the m1 air is PERFECT for editing. id imagine when you're rendering 3d models and extremely edited vfx, it may lag then but if youre a youtuber or a freelancer who wants to edit good quality videos, buying an m1 air 256 with a fast 1 tb external ssd (all under 85k) is a smarter call.

It is always better to slow charge for the longetivity of the batteries. Everyone should buy two chargers, and use the faster charger only when it is urgent.

I am watching this video on my mac and I wish I could tell you that all these problems you mentioned are only because you are new to it. As a long time user now, I’d never even dream of using cmd+tab to switch tabs or right click to view open tabs. There are thousand intuitive gestures just on trackpad that could be used so as to minimize the use of clicking buttons. Wish I could just come and show you are you can overcome these basic problems. Anyhow, nice video. All the best 😄

I am thinking about getting a Mac just for the insane battery backup. I have been dual booting Linux and Windows for years. Linux is far better in terms of development tasks, but I feel constrained by the freewheelin time a mac gives if you want to chill outside without power cables compared to windows laptops. And after the M1 machines, the gap is so much wider now.

i agree w Pratik in this video, the nominal upgrades from the M1 MBA to the M2 MBA are compromisable esp because of the price difference and the ssd drama. however, as someone who is looking for a macbook @ base variant to try MacOS out, i’m far drawn towards the M2 MBA than the M1 because of the design overhaul, it’s just plain better, but that price is such an F factor.

Windows with WSA and WSL is currently just unbeatable. ofc as an OS, if talking about Battery and other hardware stuff it depends on manufacturers.

Two adjacent C port are actually thunderbolt port which can be attached to a HUB and do a charging and screen cast together. There is always some reason for such design.

As per the port situation is considered iam using MacBook Air M1 for my college and i never need ports other than charging because nowadays we transfer data wirelessly and when i need to connect pen drive otg is always in my bag.

For laptop every time go for mac because battery too good but I prefer windows on my desktop. Windows >> macOS for desktop only. If you buy a laptop, you want it for portability.

For productivity nothing beats MacBooks hands down, i mean the battery life is just flawless. What windows is bad is battery and heating issues with some shit ass windows background process.

4:44 - its not a bug, its how macos implemented the [cmd+`]. It is used to alternate between active windows of current app in context, so any window which is minimized even if it is of same app, will not be switched to which seems to be your case(can say that because of the genie effect chrome opened with, happens only when it's minimized). It's still in RAM and not cleared. I recommend using alttab (free app) for anyone coming from windows. You will feel at home, preview peeks for switch like we have with window using [opt+tab] and alternative between all windows of active app with [opt+`].

In my opinion windows is still better because all the features that prateek talked about can be achieved by installing apps like QUICK LOOK and WINDOWS POWER TOYS on windows.

Why go back to windows when you're enjoying the macbook? Can you let us know more on that? Because a lot of us come from the same all time windows users category!

I used to be a Windows user, then I switched to M2 Air and will never go back. Even as a web developer the laptop can handle my heavy workload. Its also extremely compact and lightweight. Yet solid.

As a Macbook user, if you want a macbook and you are student, buy macbook air m1 with 16 gb ram and base variant (256GB). it helps in 2 efficient way - 1) Price efficient (ofcourse), 2) higher ram will help you in a long term. I am using these specified variant for 1.5 year now and it still hasn't lag in any task at all. I am a programmer and I use virtual environment for app testing. and let me tell you, THIS THING KILLS ALL THE TASK WITHOUT BREAKING A SWEAT. It is really efficient. I use 1 TB external harddisk to solve any storage issues.(u can do the same). M1 air is still the best choice. My teammate uses M2 air and other have M1 Max. we all use world's best programming language - PYTHON. (if u disagree, fine😅). and execution time differs by only half a minute or so between these 3 beasts. So, u can easily buy M1 air with given specification.

Windows has always been for a long spectrum of users. Be it newbies or power users, it does it all. I used a Mac for a while in my office, and I hated the experience with my life. Since powertoys rolled out, Windows has been the most powerful it can be. I specifically use the text extractor tool which I have to explain to others who use Mac or Linux that this can be done, and you don't have to do it manually all the time.

using power tools in windows can get you the same features plus you can add third party wighets quite easily in windows so i"ll be a windows user

it doesn't ignores that , it provides more safety . Like if i opened two windows of chrome and then minimized one , then that minimed one will be accessible from that , and why it is done ? because if i minimize some thing then i don't want it to appear in front of anyone , and during presentations and some time some one saw what you were working , and you minimized it , but they try to see ki show na , so you can tell by showing that see nothing available , and when they go just right click and open again.

Yes, I used Mac M1.. It was really lovely and superb and I got completely habituated that I forgot windows completely 😂. But, I really love MacBook M1 Air instead of M2 Air..!!!

Main pro of M chip Macbook is battery life all my friends have windows and they can't use it without the charger and i charge my M1 Air after 2 days which is bonkers. Windows laptop are heavy and when you carry charger in whole campus it gives you back pain.

VPN is not a security option at all in India, rather if you don't use it, its most likely that your data packets are not particularly logged.

Have been a long time windows user and never really liked macs because of how overpriced they were and how hot they ran even with low end hardware. But, with apple silicon launch things have been really different now. Just bought an MacBook Air M1 for office work and travel and i have to say the battery life and performance is insane . The laptop performs smooth even without being connected to a brick and can easily get me through a day at work with a single charge .

Love you, buddy. I just listened to you and convinced myself to get an M3 Pro MBP a few days ago. Except for battery, camera, and screen, I don't have any reason to actually like this product. Windows is actually super smooth and it doesn't have any lags; MBP has a lot to catch up to. If anyone has any questions regarding this MBP or wants to buy it from me, let me know.

Regarding that Chrome window switching, you need to press Cmd + ` (same as Cmd + Tab but for windows of same app).

macOS is far better then windows! and its not not the ram issue and there is no need to use ALT+tab( which actually is a command + TAB). you can easy use mission planner! just swipe with your 3 fingers on trackpad and you will see the magic happen with windows can't even think of! and magic is not ended, you have feature of stage manager. i was a windows user from 2018 to 2020( i-core-5 , 8 gb ram, XE iris) and bought MacBook pro m1 256 gb in April 2022! windows is a good OS, not doubt! but MacBook is far better then it! only fault in macOS is gaming! other wise macOS is damn good!
