Also glad to see some of my favorite bonus cards are now available. I find Anatomist to be an underrated bonus card. 4 birds for 7 points and a lot of useful engine building birds qualify. Some of the lower percentage bonus cards (Food Web Expert is only 9%) 4 birds only gives 8 points. So for one less point I have double the chance at hitting the higher tier. Personally I think Food Web Expert should be 3 points per bird and Breeding Manager should be 2 points per bird to balance out. I know a lot more birds qualify for Breeding Manager, but rarely do I have the ability to have more than 3 or 4 birds having 4 eggs on them even when I am stuck with that bonus card.

Thanks, it helped a lot! I thought wood duck is really strong, but now you showed me how to use it well. Interesting word - an engine. Its like something that you use over and over to get all those resources and points. I have a question tho, if i use only wood duck and a cheap bird that lays eggs on forest, would that be enough for a card draw? I would be getting only 1 card instead of 2, maybe i would be short in cards. I used Wood duck like this and it didnt work out. The food cost of wood duck, egg laying and in return only getting 1 draw per turn seemed to slowed me to the point where i got only about 50 points at the end of game, when with franklins gull in grasslands i can get 80-100 once even 114 points.

Thanks for watching! This was definitely not a very common set up in the forest using the repeater bird. What you describe with an egg layer next to the Wood Duck in the forest is much more common, and definitely still powerful. Sure you see less cards each turn, but you are still gaining cards, food, and eggs, so you can easily keep using the forest until you find something good to play. And for me, seeing two cards each turn is still usually enough to be able to find good birds to play. It's not as powerful as a Killdeer/Franklin's Gull, but it's the next best thing and still has potential for 100+ point games. Hope that helps!

Is it possible to build an engine in the forest without the Wood Duck? If so, how?

Noob question but I have the base game and EE, but I don't have Anatomist and other bonus cards in my game. Where do I get those?

Some of the bonus cards are language dependent, so the developers removed them from the online game to avoid any issues

Thanks for the feedback - I try to keep these videos short so that does mean playing fast, and I expected most of my viewers to already be somewhat familiar with the bird powers, but in future I’ll look to take more time discussing the important bird powers.

Beginner here (4 games with friends) trying to level up so I’m at least not in last place every time. I agree, the gameplay was too fast. Would love to watch long-form content for beginners of forest generation, wetland generation, middle, and end strategy. Thanks!
