Hi Teresa. Thank you for the great comment! That is very gratifying to hear. We feel very strongly that consumers need a resource they can trust to help them find the right mattress for their personal needs -- not the one that puts the most money in the reviewer's pocket. As such, we work very hard to create truly expert and objective reviews that go WELL BEYOND the thinly veiled sales pitches and regurgitated marketing claims that you see from other mattress review sites. Thanks again for your kind comment!

PLEASE do a comparison of the WinkBed “Softer” vs. Helix Moonlight Luxe! I cannot decide w/ out your input :) I took your quiz and now can’t decide between these 2. I am 50+ years old, 120# and prefer a soft - medium soft feel without the “I’m stuck I can’t get out” feeling. Just a little bit of that cradling feeling would be nice. I am a combo back/side sleeper. FYI - I have rheumatoid arthritis which causes chronic pain and insomnia. Your opinion could possibly be life changing for me. I think the deciding factor will probably be the fact that Helix does not allow you to exchange beds on the basis of firmness, only size. If you’re unhappy w/ the level of softness/firmness they will provide a topper that they say will fix it; however we all know what toppers do....they move and are heavy and need constant readjustments. At least that’s been my experience.

Great review. Debating between the soft version vs their eco cloud. Side sleeper, this bed came out as a good match on your quiz! Their customer service seems pretty good!

Hi Priya. We haven't yet done an in-depth review of the Eco Cloud. It's similar to the Winkbed in that both have a pocketed coils support unit. Where the Winkbed has a comfort layer of gel-infused foam, the Eco Cloud has latex. In terms of feel, we expect them to be similar, but the Eco Cloud is more "green" with all-natural latex and organic cotton. Good luck making your choice!

I sleep on my back because side-sleeping causes hip & leg pain. If my hip area sinks into a mattress, even just a little, my leg pain worsens as the night goes on, but I also need some pressure relief for my shoulders. Do you think the Firmer or Plus would work best for me? I'm a female 130 lbs. and have spinal stenosis & bad sciatia.

Thanks for the review. Which would you suggest between the Winkbed, Luft Hybrid 2.0 and Helix Luxe for 6'5 255lbs side sleeper?
@goodbed
@goodbed 5 лет назад
Hi Anthony -- Thanks for your question. We haven't tested the Luft Hybrid so I'm afraid I can't speak to that one very well, however we have tested the regular WinkBed, the WinkBed Plus, and the Helix Nightfall. Given your weight, I would probably rule out the first one. The WinkBed Plus and the Nightfall are pretty similar, and both are specifically designed for folks who are your size. That said, given that you are a side sleeper, I would be inclined to give a slight edge to the WinkBed Plus. It has a little more surface softness and I think it's zoned coil system would provide a little more conformance to your shoulders and hips while still being strong enough to support your weight. FYI, here is a link to our review of that bed, in case you haven't seen it yet: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oO7sd3sPKK0.html I hope that's helpful.

Very comprehensive review and fantastic delivery, Mike. Thank you. I'm seeking a bed with a similar feel as this but with natural latex on top vs the the type of foam in this one. I want natural latex over pocketed coils with a medium-firm feel. I also want good edge support. The Winkbed is inspiring, but having natural latex is important for me. Would you kindly suggest beds for me in this category you may know of and/or have reviewed. Thank you very much.

Hi Maria -- Thank you for your kind words! I'm very sorry I missed this comment earlier. Regarding your question, here are a couple good mattresses that can be ordered online and that feature natural latex over pocketed coils: * PlushBeds Luxury Bliss: www.goodbed.com/mattress-model/plushbeds-luxury-bliss-12/ * Naturepedic EOS: www.goodbed.com/mattress-line/naturepedic/ Unfortunately we haven't formally reviewed these yet, but they are both nice mattresses, and I have personally slept extensively on a Naturepedic mattress. I hope that helps!

Excellent presentation, thank you. I have a few more questions. Do all mattresses these days work in adjustable beds? Will the delivery guys take the old bed away? What's the shortest (as opposed to 16") mattress available, in consideration of my little dogs?
@goodbed
@goodbed 3 года назад
Hi Mary. While a great many mattresses work on an adjustable base, not all do. The Winkbed can be use on an adjustable base though. And relative to our initial video, Winkbed changed the height of the mattress. It's now 13.5" -- much shorter for your little dogs! Hope that helps.

Hi Mike. You’re so informative, clear and concise!! Thanks. I’ve had my eye on the winkbed. But I’m not sure if I should go with the luxury firm or soft. I’m 5’5 and 180 lbs. I took your sleep quiz. It recommended this one in a soft and Saavta in a soft. But, My boyfriend has the Saavta luxury firm, and honestly, I think it’s too soft for me and difficult to move back and forth. I fall asleep on my side. I wake up sometimes on my back. I’ve had a Simmons for 19 years. Now I have a Brentwood Home Crystal Cove. I’ve been sleeping on the soft side of t had Crystal Cove. It’s a little too soft and not supportive enough, and now I have lower back pain. Let me know your thoughts on if I should try the Winkbed luxury firm or soft first or would you recommend a completely different mattress? I’m so confused since I think the Saavta luxury firm is too soft. I hate memory foam by the way. Definitely want a hybrid. Thanks in advance.
@goodbed
@goodbed 3 года назад
Hi Rachel. To a large degree, softness is a preference issue -- some people prefer a softer feeling bed, and others don't. So in your case, going with a Medium or even a Firm in terms of softness will be better for you. As for the WinkBed Luxury Firm, we found it to be a straight up medium. If you found the Saatva Luxury Firm too soft, then may not like the WinkBed Luxury Firm, which we found to be softer than the Saata. So maybe the WinkBed Firmer for you - the WinkBed doesn't have any of that memory foam feel, so you should be good on that account. Hope that helps!

Sounds like you reviewed the Med Firm, they offer a Soft option any chance you can compare them. I am side sleeper about 195lbs and I was almost sold on a purple and then read a lot of reviews saying its too hard and has lousy edge support so I was leaning towards WinkBed. What do you think is the absolute best side sleeper mattress that exists I also heard good things about NOLAH bed, any thoughts?
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi +Giggidygiggidy12 -- Thanks for your question. You are correct that we reviewed the Luxury Firm version of the WinkBed. Unfortunately I have not personally tested their "Softer" version, so I can't provide a first-hand comparison of these two. In terms of edge support, I can certainly say that the edge support in the WinkBed was excellent (as shown in the video at 15:06) and indeed is much better than the edge support in the Purple (or for that matter, any all-foam mattress, including Nolah). In terms of softness, I'd be careful with relying on different people's accounts of softness. Softness is highly subjective. Of the nearly 200,000 mattress ratings that have been posted on GoodBed.com, we have countless examples of the exact same mattress being rated as too hard for one person and too soft for the next. This is not only because different people are accustomed to different sleep surfaces (and thus have different frames of reference), it's also because that a given mattress could feel softer to someone who's heavier and firmer to someone who's lighter, or soft to a stomach sleeper but firm to a side sleeper, etc. As such, I would really recommend relying only on the standardized estimations of softness in GoodBed's editorial reviews. Also listen to our description of that softness in the videos, in which we will try to describe how different kinds of sleepers are likely to experience the softness of that mattress. As an example, here is where we describe the softness level of the Purple mattress: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rjXViaBCEoA.html In terms of the "best side sleeper" mattress, there is no such thing as one mattress that is the best mattress for side sleepers. The reality is that there are countless mattresses that *could* be a good match for a side sleeper. Depending on your weight, body shape, and pressure relief needs, many of those would be eliminated, but there would still be many remaining. From there, it would be all of your other criteria (edge support, motion isolation, responsiveness, cushioning depth, temperature, budget, etc.) that would break the tie between those options. Any site that lists the "best mattresses for side sleepers" either doesn't understand this fundamental point about mattresses or is simply trying to sell you the mattresses on that list (or both). Lest you come away from this feeling despair over how complicated this all is, we do fortunately have an easy yet sophisticated solution, which is a very detailed match quiz that will search across many hundreds of options and will narrow in on ones that best match your personal needs and preferences. It will even calculate a match score that you can click on to see how we calculated it. The inputs for this algorithm include feedback that we've collected from hundreds of thousands of real mattress owners. If you haven't already taken it, I'd highly recommend starting with that as it can save you a lot of time and aggravation. You can find it here: www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/

Hey Mike I took your quiz which is more comprehensive and the Helix. Yours said helix moonlight or winkbed soft. Helix said dusk . What's your opinion as to whos to go with ? Thank you.
@goodbed
@goodbed 5 лет назад
Hi Jay -- Thanks for your question, and sorry for my delay in responding. I think I was able to find your quiz results from your name and the time you submitted this question (you are on the East Coast of Florida, right?). It looks like you took the quiz 3 times in the hours prior to commenting here, but only once with complete information populated. In that instance, the recommended options were WinkBed Softer, Saatva Plush Soft, and Brooklyn Signature Soft ( in that order). In one of the other two quiz results, I did see Helix Dusk (not Moonlight) but in that one you did not provide a sleep position. Presuming you are primarily a side sleeper, as you indicated in the other instance, I would think something slightly softer than Medium would be ideal, which is why the 3 options listed above were shown instead of the Dusk. The Moonlight is a bit softer than the Dusk, so it could be a good option too, but not quite as good as the 3 options listed above. I hope that's helpful.

Thanks very much for the advice you gave me before. I bought the WinkBed luxury firm, and I really like it. My lumbar area and hips are enjoying it especially. However, I am a partial side sleeper and I notice that sometimes when I wake up that my hand on the side against the mattress has fallen asleep. I've had the bed for about two months and have rotated it, but the problem still continues. Wink customer service was not a huge help. Would you suggest a mattress topper? The luxury firm is already pretty padded, but maybe a little more padding would help in my shoulder and arm. Any thoughts? Thank you.
@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
Hi Dave. Thanks for the question. We thought pressure relief for the WinkBed was good, but not the very best. In your case, you might just need a little bit more cushioning and pressure relief. You could certainly try a 2" topper of memory foam or latex -- both have excellent pressure relieving properties and should not be expensive. Adding a topper should not affect the inherent support of the bed. Keep us posted!

What are your thoughts about using two Twin XL as a king? The king mattresses we have had in the past have always had issues with sagging. With the two Twin XL mattresses, they would be easier to rotate, you could have a Luxury Firm for one and a Firmer for the other. They would also be easier to move around. Plus, you could replace one at a time if needed. Thoughts? I realize they may cost a bit more.
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi Brent -- Thanks for your question. I think you're thinking about this exactly right. Using two TwinXL mattresses gives you the same total surface area as a standard King while allowing you to have different feels on each side. And as you pointed out, this also makes them a bit easier to maneuver and affords you the option of replacing only one of them should it wear out sooner than the other. Another advantage of this configuration is that should you ever get an adjustable base, you would be able to elevate each side of the mattress independently from the other. Apart from the possible cost differential, the only drawbacks are: -- You may feel a crack in the middle of your bed. That said, you can certainly put your king-size mattress protector and sheets over the two mattresses, which will make this less noticeable. If your mattresses have a lot of quilting on top that is tapered at the edge, the crack may feel a bit more pronounced, but if that bothers you there are inexpensive products designed to address this issue: amzn.to/2DZWoY9 -- If your mattresses have an "edge support" feature, you will have this running up the middle of your bed, since the middle of your bed will essentially be two mattress edges pressed together. This just means you won't have the same degree of softness and conformance in the exact middle of your bed that you would have in the part where you'd typically sleep. The flip side is that the exact middle of your bed will be less prone to sagging, as you pointed out. I hope that helps.

I have the Nest Alexander Signature Hybrid in Luxury Firm, which I like, but sleeps a bit hot. Had the Avocado for 10 months and it was cooler, but too firm and not enough pressure point relief even w/ the topper (Had pain in shoulders, hips & back). I'm 5/4, 130 pounds, combo sleeper - back and side. The NASH is much better than the Avocado, but I'm considering ordering a Winkbed from your site. Question: my main concerns are (1) pressure point relief while still getting solid support (don't like sinking into mattress or too soft mattress, but need some sinking to relieve pressure points and don't like too firm mattress like the Avocado); and (2) sleeping cool. All other factors aren't that important. Any guidance on how the WinkBed might compare to the Nest Alexander Sig. Hybrid on these two issues? Thanks!
@goodbed
@goodbed 3 года назад
Hi. Have you taken our quiz? We developed it exactly for this type of situation. So instead of researching a ton of models, our quiz can hone in on models that are most likely to fit your personal needs. In the quiz, you can indicate that pressure relief and sleeping cool are priorities. You can start the quiz here: www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/quiz/ Once you've taken the quiz, you can then see your score for all the mattresses in our database, including the WinkBed and others, and see an explanation for why and why not they might meet your needs. As for your specific question about pressure relief, we thought that the Nest Alexander Sig Hybrid has better pressure relief than the WInkBed. Hope that's helpful!

@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
HI Brian. The Soft will definitely have more cushioning depth. It doesn't have memory foam, so you don't have to worry about that. From a support standpoint, based on our tests the soft should still be good for you for back and side sleeping -- probably too soft for stomach sleeping, but it sounds like you don't tend to sleep in that position. Hope that's helpful!

GoodBed, I just discovered your videos. They're great! Thanks for making them. A couple months ago, I purchased the Avocado Green mattress - but it's not a fit. I can usually sleep decently on any mattress, but the middle third of the Avocado is too firm and causes hip/sciatic pain. I'm 5'7", just under 140lbs, in the age 35-44 category, and a combination sleeper. Your online quiz (which is genius, by the way) pointed me to the Winkbed Plus. Do you think that's too firm? Should I go with the medium instead? Thanks in advance for your input!
@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
Hi Christine. In our review, we thought the Avocado mattress would be a "firm" on our scale, whereas the WinkBed (and WinkBed Plus) are both a "medium" so we did find both of them softer than the Avocado. For your size/weight, the regular WinkBed (as opposed to the plus) would save you some money compared to the WinkBed Plus. Another option would be the pillowtop version of the Avocado; we didn't review that specific model, but it's the solution Avocado suggests for those who want more softness and conformance. Hope that helps!

FYI -- I'm about the same size as you and a combo sleeper. I had the Avocado for nearly a year, trying both the plush and the firm toppers, and it NEVER worked. I returned and am now trying the Nest Alexander Signature Hybrid in the lux firm. It is MUCH better than Avocado, except Avocado was cooler. The NASH is a good option, but I might try the Winkbed before making a final decision.

Is the Winkbed soft enough for those with fibomyalgia and not out gas too much for those with chemical sensitivities? TY :)
@goodbed
@goodbed 5 лет назад
Hi Joy -- Thanks for your question. The WinkBed comes in 3 softness levels now. The one we reviewed in this video is now the Medium. I think that it has enough surface softness on top of the mattress to work for someone with fibromyalgia, however if you are significantly lighter than me, especially if you are a side sleeper, then you might look at the Soft version. In terms of the off-gassing, I don't tend to be particularly sensitive to this myself, but I can say that the WinkBed mattresses had very little off-gassing compared to most other online options. This is because their mattresses contain very little foam. The construction here is mostly coils, which of course don't off-gas at all. And even up near the top in the comfort layers of the mattress, they use little soft "micro-coils" instead of foam. I hope that's helpful.

It looks like for side sleepers similar to your weight it might need a little more cushioning to be perfect so what mattress cover/topper would you recommend to make it perfect? I know a soft version is available now but assuming I already have the luxury firm option.
@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
Hi. There is a Soft version -- we think pressure relief might be a bit better, but perhaps not as much as cushioning as you are looking for. You could consider adding a 2" memory foam or latex topper. Two brands we've looked at in the past are Lucid -- such as this one: www.amazon.com/LUCID-Memory-Foam-Mattress-Topper/dp/B01H2OCWCU/s?tag=goo04f-20 -- and Latex for Less --www.goodbed.com/o/m/latex-for-less/. Hi! Hi and thanks for the comment. Did you know we have detailed ratings pages on each mattress we review? That's really helpful for checking your weight/size against sleeping position for our scores. Here's the Winkbed: www.goodbed.com/reviews/winkbed-mattress-review/ Here's Saatva: www.goodbed.com/reviews/saatva-mattress-review/ As you'll see, the Saata has less cushioning depth -- so more of that "floating" feeling, and we thought both would be supportive for back sleepers. @goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi there -- Thanks for your question. I'm assuming you have the standard version of the Avocado (not the Pillow Top). If so, this model definitely doesn't have a lot of softness (we classify it as a Firm on our softness spectrum). We typically recommend that side sleepers focus on mattresses that are Medium or softer, so I'm not surprised to hear that you would be experiencing pain in your shoulders and hips on that mattress. The WinkBed Luxury Firm is a Medium-Firm on our softness scale, so it will definitely be softer than the standard Avocado. You could also consider the Softer version of the WinkBed, but at 250 lbs that might be a bit too soft unless you really like a softer feel. In case it's helpful, you can always find the best currently available discount for each brand on their GoodBed profile page, which for WinkBed is here: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/winkbeds/ I hope that helps.

Hello! I’ve been so confused these past three weeks, deciding which mattress will work best for me. I went to the mattress store and fell in love with the Beautyrest Hybrid (alcove), medium plush. However, the price is $2500 which makes me think twice whether to buy it or not. From all the online mattress available, which one do you think will be close enough and has the best value in replacing the Alcove Beautyrest Hybrid? Saatva or Winkbed? Or maybe other brands? Thanks!
@goodbed
@goodbed 6 лет назад
Hi Sheila -- Thanks for your question. The Beautyrest Alcove is an unquilted hybrid mattress with several inches of memory foam over pocket coils and deeper cushioning. I don't think either the WinkBed or the Saatva will closely resemble this option because both have a traditional quilted surface and neither have much (if any) "memory" feel. Two much closer options would be these: -- Tomorrow Sleep: www.goodbed.com/mattresses/tomorrow-sleep/ -- Nest Alexander Hybrid: www.goodbed.com/mattress-line/nest-bedding-alexander-hybrid/ FYI, we have already reviewed the Alexander Hybrid (you'll find that video on the link above) and our review of the Tomorrow Sleep will be published within the next week or so. IMHO, that one will be the closest in feel, so I think it's worth waiting to see that review before you make your decision. I hope that helps.

I’ve only been sleeping on it for 3 days, but now I have my doubt. I don’t think it is the most comfy bed for me. It is nice, but not spectacular. I purchased the soft one, yet it is still maybe not as plush as I want it to be. Do you have other suggestion of comfortable and high quality plush bed? Preferably memory foam feel but not hot. I’m only 120lb so maybe that’s why I prefer soft bed than the firm one. Additionally, I’m thinking to try Loom&Leaf instead. Would you recommend that? Thanks!

May you compare the winkbed plus to the firmer option? Or give me some idea about the difference in feel, bounce, temperature, and firmness?
@goodbed
@goodbed 4 года назад
Hi there -- Thanks for your question. Just to clarify, the version we reviewed here is the Medium (aka, Luxury Firm) and most popular version. In a separate video, we also reviewed the Plus. We did not specifically test the Firm version of the regular WinkBed. That said, it's interesting to note that we found the softness to be about the same between the WinkBed Luxury Firm and the WinkBed Plus, which was partly on account of the quilting being similar across the two versions. The Plus is intended to be more durable for heavier persons, but did not necessarily feel a lot more firm. So our expectation is that the WinkBed Firm may indeed feel more firm than the Plus. Temperature would be very similar, though maybe a little cooler on the Firm, which should have a bit more airflow due to its use of micro-coils instead of latex in the comfort layers. Bounce should be very similar as well. In comparing the Firm to the Medium, the biggest differences would be in the feel, where of course the Firm would have less softness and a bit less cushioning depth (sinkage) as well. We would expect bounce and temperature to be very similar though -- if there is any difference in these areas at all, the Firm would have slightly more bounce and more air flow (on account of the shallower cushioning depth). I hope that's helpful.

Hi +Jon -- Thanks for your question. Yes, we have reviewed the Alexander Hybrid. The video of that review is currently being edited and will be coming out in the next 1-2 weeks. The WinkBed is actually a little *softer* than the Alexander Hybrid. We would characterize the WinkBed as having *Medium* softness, whereas we would call the Alexander Hybrid a *Medium-Firm* level of softness. The WinkBed also has slightly deeper cushioning than the Alexander Hybrid. Hope that helps!

@goodbed 7 лет назад
Hi Jon -- Thanks for your patience on the Alexander Hybrid video. Unfortunately we've had a few delays working through some backlog on the editing side that has pushed back our timeline a week or so. In terms of which one I would prefer for myself, I generally aim not to cloud your decision with information like that, since your needs and preferences are likely not exactly the same as mine. Likewise, IMHO, ranking mattresses or giving them an "overall rating" typically reflects a lack of understanding about how mattresses actually work (or an attempt to steer viewers toward mattresses that make them more money). In terms of build quality, I would say that the Alexander Hybrid is solid but overall I see fewer possible weak links in the WinkBed's construction. That said, the WinkBed is a bit more expensive as well. On balance, we'd give the nod to WinkBed in terms of value for the dollar, but I still think the Alexander Hybrid is a good value. I hope that helps.

Answer a few questions about your needs and preferences, and we can match those against the beds in our database to give you a short list of beds most likely to suit your needs. And once you've taken the quiz, you can look up your match score for any bed -- and see an explanation of why or why not it may work for you. Start the quiz here: www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/quiz/ As for the WinkBed specifically, you mention you want a soft mattress - we found the WinkBed to be a medium -- right in the middle, so perhaps not as soft as you may be looking for? (lil bit on my history: . i purchased the Ghostbed, and i wake up with shoulder and hip pain, but i can not sleep on a soft mattress because i ended up with horrible lower back pain...i bought the Alex. Hybrid. and it was too soft... Any suggestions ?)
@goodbed
@goodbed 7 лет назад
Thank you +C Carm -- I'm very glad you found it helpful. In terms of comparing this mattress to the GhostBed, they are actually pretty different. To highlight the biggest differences, in my mind those would be: * Materials + Feel: The WinkBed combines firm pocketed coils for support with a soft pillow-top for comfort, giving it a Medium feel overall. Whereas the GhostBed uses foam for support with latex and memory foam for comfort, and has a Medium-Firm feel overall. * Responsiveness: The GhostBed's blend of latex over memory foam (with a foam core) leaves it pretty much right in the middle between "bouncy" and "memory feel". Whereas the WinkBed definitely has bounce and no memory feel. * Height: The WinkBed is 16" tall, whereas the GhostBed is 11" tall. Now in terms of the specifics you provided about yourself... Although I describe the pillow-top of the WinkBed as "soft," I would not consider this mattress soft in a way that would be likely to give someone back pain. This is mainly because underneath the soft comfort layers is a very firm support core that will definitely prevent your heaviest parts from sinking as far into the mattress as they would on many other beds. In our terminology, what you described is that the GhostBed did not provide adequate "pressure relief" for you, while the Alexander Hybrid didn't provide proper "spinal alignment" for you. Net, it's hard to say for sure without more information about you, but I do think it's possible that the WinkBed would provide more pressure relief for you than the GhostBed did (on account of its softer feel) while also providing better spinal alignment for you than the Alexander Hybrid did (on account of its firm coils. So it's certainly possible that it would be a better match for you than either of those. I hope that helps!

Hi Shaun -- Thanks for your question, and sorry we missed this earlier. IIRC the full height is about 16 inches. Hi Rod. I wouldn't say they weren't honest -- we think they updated and reduced the height of the coil unit since we reviewed it, most likely when they introduce the Plus version. @@goodbed With all due respect, you yourself said the mattress you reviewed was close to 16" even though Winkbeds stated it was 14". @goodbed
@goodbed 7 лет назад
Hi David -- Thanks for your question. No, the WinkBed doesn't come with handles on it, even in the king size. That said, I don't think you'd really need handles to be able to rotate it. Most of the thickness of this mattress comes from the layers of pocketed coils and micro coils (both of which are much lighter than foam), so as a result this mattress actually weighs about 25-30% *less* than the typical online mattress (eg, Casper, etc.). In addition, due to the innerspring construction, it is a *lot* less floppy than an all-foam mattress. On account of these two things, the WinkBed is actually a lot easier to rotate than many other mattresses, even ones that are much thinner than it. Hope that helps.

I hate my Wink soft version. Its as firm as any "firm" mattress I've laid on. Just not very soft at all. It makes my shoulder stiff (side sleeper) and I barely sleep at all. The company says I have to keep it for 30 days. I tried it another night and my shoulder hurts. I know you have to break a bed in but I've never had a bed that I liked give me soreness and affect my sleep even when new. I guess it will live in my attic until they let me return it. Pretty stupid with their guarantee that I can't send it back now. I am at the point where I can't sleep on it because it makes me so sore it affects my work. Hi Brittany -- Thanks for your question, which is certainly one I would have as well if I hadn't seen these things in action before. While the thickness of a mattress can factor into its adjustable base compatibility, thicker mattresses like the WinkBed can still be compatible. Hi JJ -- Thanks for your question. In terms of sheets, what you'll be looking for are called "deep-pocket" sheets. The good news is there are actually lots of choices. Here is a list of options on Amazon that you can filter by various other criteria (colors, patterns, thread counts, materials, etc.): amzn.to/2peKTGA The descriptions for the sheets will generally say how thick a mattress they are meant to cover, but "deep pocket" is typically good for up to 15-16" or so, which should be enough to cover the WinkBed. If you want to be on the safe side, you can look for "extra deep pocket," which is actually another filter on that list. I hope that's helpful.

Between this and novosbed?
@goodbed
@goodbed 7 лет назад
+E. Roncallo Thanks for your question. The WinkBed and the NovosBed are actually quite different, both in their construction and their characteristics. The biggest difference in terms of the overall experience is what we call "responsiveness." The Novosbed has no bounce and a *lot* of "memory" feel (i.e., that feeling of slowly melting into the bed) -- which some people love but others really don't. By contrast, the WinkBed has some bounce, and has *no* "memory" feel. So in deciding between them, that would be the first place I'd start. Just to touch on a few of the other differences, the WinkBed has much better edge support and is easier to reposition on, while the Novosbed probably has slightly better pressure relief. FYI, we will actually be releasing a video review of the Novosbed within the next couple days, so watching that will give you a more complete sense for the differences. It would be good if people who watch this and buy the mattress comment about their feelings after about a month of using it. All the comments are of people looking to buy.

Hi Chris. Well yes -- that would be very helpful. But I think most people finding these videos are actively trying to make a decision. We do have reviews from owners on our website though -- from people that actually own the mattress. You'll find 125 owner-written reviews for the WinkBed there! www.goodbed.com/mattresses/winkbeds/reviews/ Hope that's helpful!

Thanks for the reply. The winkbed is not delivered to Canada but I’m sort of leaning away from these bed in a box mattresses. I’ve heard people complaining after two years that they tend to sag or have depressions in areas where you lay. Also feeling the coils after that time. One needs to hear from those that have owned the mattress for a long period of time, many years. Some also say the have the extended warranties but replacing only in the short term and repairing long term.

What you've got here is a classic case in need of a dual-comfort solution, meaning you and your wife have very different needs and preferences. Many couples go with a DIY solution: purchasing two twin XL mattresses of a given model in different comfort levels, then placing them side-by-side on a king-sized foundation. If you are looking at WinkBed, you could get one in Soft for her, and one Firmer for you. Another solution you might consider is a bed that offers a built-in way to have different comfort levels on each side of the mattress. As one example of this, most air mattresses have air bladders that allow each partner to adjust their side to their liking so that both needs are met. So don't despair! While purchasing two twin mattresses may be more expensive than buying one king size, it will keep you both sleeping in the same bed. Hope that helps!

I'm afraid mattress selection is too personal for us to make any kind of across-the-board recommendation without knowing a lot more about you to more fully assess your requirements. That said, have you taken the GoodBed Quiz yet? We developed it for exactly this purpose. Once you answer a few questions about your body type, sleeping style, and preferences, we can match up your needs against thousands of mattresses from both online and store brands. You'll get a "match score" for each mattress along with specific notes about how that mattress is likely to meet your needs. It might also turn up some models you haven't yet considered. You can find the quiz here: www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/ I hope that's helpful.

Good Beds, have you seen that Winkbeds now offers a Lifetime warranty and a comfort exchange option? Nest Bedding vs. Winkbeds anyone?!
@goodbed
@goodbed 5 лет назад
Hi Karayah -- Thanks for your question. Yes, we were aware of those features. In terms of Nest Bedding vs WinkBed, I think your point was that return policies and such are basically a wash, on which I'd agree. So it's going to come down to your personal needs and preferences. Nest has a broader lineup of mattresses, yet none of them overlaps that closely with the WinkBed options. Either the Alexander Signature Hybrid or the Hybrid Latex would probably be the closest to the standard WinkBeds, but both of those still have some notable differences.

Winkbed!! Funny: I gave a thumbs up to a couple of your comments on The Slumber Yard about 2 hours ago :) Here you were & I am looking at a model with coils(!). Have you made a purchase?! Thanks!

Also: Winkbed’s warranty is probably a solid bet (and that’s hardly considering the materials used). Manufacturers of all types of furniture in Wisconsin have a great reputation for producing high quality products and by workers with excellent work ethic! Ask me how I know ; )

Hi Steve -- Thanks for your comment. Yes, earlier this year, WinkBed began compressing this mattress for shipping. We updated the description of this review as well as our written review accordingly. Hope you like it!

Hi JanetLee. None of the WinkBed mattresses are meant to be flipped. Some manufacturers do make mattresses that are flippable, but WinkBeds is not one of them. Are you sure it's a WinkBed mattress you're thinking of?
