Today I’ll be diving into the original WinkBeds mattress, a hybrid model that combines a plush pillow top with ultra-supportive coils for a super cozy sleeping experience. Aside from checking out its specs, I’m excited to scope out this model because it’s the brand’s very first bed-in-a-box.

The Wink is hand made in Wisconsin. This bed feels amazing with softness yet enough firmness to support all the right spots. The hybrid design really works to keep you cool and yet comfy.

I am a side sleeper and this mattress still appears to have the right combo of softness and pressure relieving points at the shoulders and hips. The video showing the firmness "zones" of the mattress is still veryy helpful and informative!

As a side-stomach combo sleeper who sleeps hot, this version of the WinkBed sounds perfect for me. I like the firm support of the pocketed coils and the bounciness of the mattress. And I especially like that, between the Tencel cover and the multiple layers of coils, it is very breathable. Thanks for the update!

I really like luxury look of the Winkbed. I’m not really a pillow top guy but this mattress looks like its constructed of quality materials. Its made to support heavy people so you know its got great support. I’m a side sleeper so i think i would go with the soft version

I think the extra coil layer on the top (below the pillow top) is a very well thought out feature. It gives the bounce of a traditional mattress which I'm looking for and the perfect sinkage for me. Also great for being able to cool with the open spaces between the pocketed coils for air to flow. I love this mattress!

I love that it sleeps cool. As I am a hot sleeper. It’s great that this one has the option of different firmness levels. It seems a lot of mattress today only give you one option. And I really like that it is supportive and has good pressure relief. One thing I wish it had a little less motion feel.

I like that the pocketed coils are zoned to help with spine alignment. I also love Tencel fabric, I think this would be excellent for hot sleepers like us!

Edge support is a huge concern for me. As a side sleeper, I do find myself sleeping close to the edge, so any additional support is ideal! Thank you for the opportunity!!

I love that the tinsel helps you sleep cooler. I get hot easy. Love that you wont feel stuck as you roll around. I go back and forth from back to side. Love the coil on coil. Love the pillow top.

I absolutely love the construction of this mattress. The tencel material which is breatheable is a PLUS!..😊 A life saver for a those who get hot and aren't able to get a good night's sleep. The pocketed coils to help our spine alignment is absolutely essential. The Euro style pillow top looks super comfortable but yet gives you great support. Also, the different levels of firmness is great. Overall I'd say the makers had us in mind...

I love that it's a pillow top and allows a cooler sleep. I'm a strict side sleeper usually. So I may need the soft wink. I need hip support. The pressure range doesnt look real bad. Memory foam usually makes me feel stuck so this one would be better for me than a memory pad.

I love the breath-ability that the coil-on-coil and quilted cover offer. I tend to run hot at night, so that is an awesome feature. I also love the medium firmness as I sleep primarily on my side and back. My boyfriend has a Saatva which is a competitor coil-on-coil and I love it so I feel this Wink bed would be a great mattress for me.

Wow!! You hit on all the points on the Winkbed that would make me sleep like a baby! I'm a "coil" person..I love the bounce and breathability, but the micro coils atop the zoned pocketed coils really make this mattress unique! I also sleep hot, so the Tencil cover and all the air between the coils would take care of this annoying issue! I do love this mattress!

I love that it sleeps cooler - that's definitely important to us! Since we gave up jumping on the bed as our main form of exercise, I think the balance transfer would be acceptable to us and still allow us to get good sleep.

Looks super comfy. Firm mattresses tend to be preferred with my back/hip issues. When I sleep in a mattress that's too soft, I wake up in so much pain. I feel like the coil on coil would feel amazing.

The Winkbed is the pinnacle of my wishlist beds. The tencil cover and coil on coil construction with standard foam instead of memory foam, would support my combination back and side sleeping needs. The build would definitely help me with sleeping hot as well. Great review

I think the coil-on-coil design is really innovative because it allows more space for a cooler sleep and gives the support that may be lacking in all foam or traditional hybrids. I have an all foam mattress and I definitely would prefer not sinking in all the time.

I love the coil on coil design! Not too excited about memory foam, being mainly a back sleeper who occasionally rolls on their side this seems amazing for me, I don't like feeling stuck in bed. I have back issues and it's really important to have that support. Currently sleeping on 2 thin foam pieces that came with the mattress. Also glad that this is more cool, I sleep too warm. Thanks for always doing the pressure map test and for telling us about the other coil on coil mattresses!

As a Licensed Massage Therapist it pains me every morning to see my husband in so much pain discomfort. My touch wont heal or relieve him because he goes back to bed on the mattress we have. This bed would definitely help me sleep better, and has always been one of the top mattresses I would like to have. I like the coil on coil system, which gives great bounce and ease of changing sleeping positions. I also love the sound of the tencel cover and the air space from the coil on coil system, which both leads to a cooler temperature mattress- definitely a huge bonus for me. The nice mixture of pressure relief and support would be my ideal mattress, and I love that it has a more traditional feel. Good luck to everyone, someone will be very happy!!!

So if I am understanding this correctly, this unique coil construction allows for better body temperature control and, being zoned into seven sections, they provide for differing points of pressure relief on the body. It sounds as though the coil on coil construction helps to keep it cushiony and comfortable. the coils give you more support so you are not sleeping in the mattress as much as on it. All of these factors put together make this mattress sound like a wonderful choice, in great part due to this coil on coil feature as well as all of the other great components of the Wink.

OMG... this WINK BED looks like it is made for me! Quilted foam tencel cover, micro coils, pocketed coils with 7 zones... it sounds dreamy! Side sleepers, especially ones with life threatening spinal issues, desperately need the right beds and pillows. But because all mattresses are not the same, as is the case also with pillows, reviews are vital. Wink beds, either the soft or the the medium look like they would be a blessing...because of being more of a side sleeper more than the back(2/3 side sleeping, 1/3 back) I think perhaps the softer wink bed would be the best fit over time. Love also the side edge support this seems to offer. (for pressure relief).

Really like the updated version with all the cooling properties, always liked WinkBed construction being so close to a reg mattress and the pillow top. Think this would be really great for me even tho I mainly sleep on my side right now, my current mattress it's the only slightly tolerable position & still hurts my shoulder. It'd be marvelous to be back on a pillow top again with comfort for all sleep positions & enough support for my lower back. Good review.

The Wink Bed might be a good choice for us as my husband is a side sleeper and I'm a back sleeper so the soft pillow top would be comfortable for us both while still giving me back support with the pocketed coils. Plus sleeping cool is always a plus!

I have scoliosis and this mattress would definitely help my back! I'm mostly a side and stomach sleeper. My current mattress is over 15 years old and I wake up frequently through the night in pain. I'm also a hot sleeper so I love that it could help me stay cooler. I think I would get a much better nights sleep with this

I think that the Winkbed is most likely one of the best options out there for side sleepers. Its coil on coils system is amazing and innovative. Im a side sleeper that sleeps warm and everything in the construction makes me think this mattress will sleep cooler and provide great pressure relief but would love to get the softer version for max comfort. I love everything about this mattress and it has moved up on my list to top five.

I like the pocketed coils because you can sink into certain points in the mattress and it will provide pressure relief and spine alignment. Coil on coil structure is so cool with all the air space. I like the firm feel as well since I am a stomach sleeper. But I would probably want the firm version more. I am a hot sleeper so this would be perfect for me! What a great mattress!!!

These pocketed coils are zoned into seven sections that provide different firmness and pressure relief at different contact points along the body as you sleep. Essentially, you’re getting more sinkage at the shoulders and hips, but more support and firmness to cradle your spine and lower body. Another feature of note here is that pocketed coils are individually wrapped, which provides a bouncier and more breathable feel than traditional steel coils. I think this is more than we should expect in a mattress, I believe the cooling layer is perfect for me

I really like the edge support on this mattress. The cooling is also a welcoming feature. I would love a hybrid mattress for the firmness and bounce because I don't like sinking in to the mattress. This is one of my favorite brands and mattresses!

I like the Tencel top and air flow from the spring space for cooler sleeping, I may want to go to the softer version for pressure relief, but this still showed better results on the pressure map test than the last few I have checked out. Thanks for the review!

This mattress is the most awesome one yet! It's the only mattress I've seen that has micro-coils and pocketed coils AND layers of foam (some infused with cooling gel). Total quality, and luxury in one mattress, it must be amazing to sleep on. Plus all WinkBeds are made in America! Best mattresses ever! My wife and I would do back-flips to sleep on a mattress like that.

I tried the Winkbeds Plus in Feb. It was the best hybrid I've ever tried - online or in stores. I just needed a mattress with memory foam for my chronic pain issues. If MemoryLux had been out, it would have been AMAZING to try. The Plus version has a layer of latex inside of the microcoils, which I preferred. I'd be open to trying a version with microcoils as long as they didn't cause too much pressure on my side and hips. Saatva was not a good fit for me at all.

This looks amazing! We’ve had our mattress for almost 10 years and it is now sinking in the middle. Makes our backs hurt! This mattress seems like it has the perfect combo of softness and firmness with those amazing coils! I’m a side sleeper and need support for my lower back while my shoulders are able to sink in a little bit.

Glad that WinkBed makes multiple firmness options, I might opt for the softer version since I spend a bit more time as a side sleeper but sometimes I think it'd be nice to have the firmer versions. Lots of airflow to keep the mattress cool is a great plus in my book and it seems the Winkbed has pretty good edge support compared to some all foam mattresses. High motion transfer seems to the biggest down side for couples.

I sleep hot and as a combo side/ back sleeper, believe this would be a perfect fit. I wouldn't worry about motion transfer, but would certainly appreciate the ability to get restorative sleep and support. Looks great!
