My uncle,...who was a Green Beret that served in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was apart of over 30 operations. He carried a Winkler for every deployment. I now proudly own that knife. Thank you for your service Sgt. Presley. 🇺🇸💪
@@RikkiHernandez He said he used it constantly too. At one point he even had to cut down a bunch of poppy plants with it. I thought that was pretty cool. No close combat though. With our technology today,....there is very little of that. You got yourself a good knife though,....for sure. I asked him what his buddy's carried and told me,..."everybody carried either Microtech OTF, Winkler or K-BAR" He said the SEALS ,...at the time were getting all their blades made by Tony Marifone who designs for Microtech. But his handmade blades are outrageously expensive. Thousands of dollars.
You are so lucky to get that blade from your uncle . That makes it worth a lot more to me. I am a US MARINE , and a multiple war veteran, and I carried a Ka-Bar , and I killed a kangaroo rat in Iraq one nite!! I wish I would have had my WINKLER when I was on active duty. I asked my old neighbor ( he was a Navy SEAL for 30 yrs) what his best knife , and his favorite knife? He said WINKLER , and he gave all of his knives to his son. Good luck GOD Bless. Have a good one!!
@@sunbunbradley Very cool man. Also,....I meant too mention,...one of his buddies actually had a Medford Pratorean prototype he sent me a picture of it. Apparently it had taken a man's life as well. Full Ti, SV30, Tan with sorta black blade.lol.. It was beat absolutely to death. It looked amazing. I've been trying to buy that knife for years. I love war worn steel.
A lot of Winkler knives do come with a leather/kydex hybrid sheath. However, this adds bulk and makes it harder to conceal carry on a belt under a t-shirt. The SD-1 sheath that you complained about is one of the sleekest and low profile configurations they offer and allows the knife to be carried invisibly. Remember that a lot of Winkler customers are LE and Military and Winkler caters to their design input.
Makes a ton of sense, my thoughts were not meant to come off as a complaint, more of a heads up to others purchasing a Winkler knife that may not know about the design behind the sheath. Like myself clearly lol
@@RikkiHernandez no worries. Their other knives like the Blue Ridge Hunter, and Belt Knife do in fact come with a really nice sheath. You should check those out as well.
Beautiful knife. Looks like a Discreet Carry Concepts clip made for belt carry. They make clips for behind the belt/pocket carry. Also check out Mummert Knives Slotted Ti Clips. I have knives with all different clips and have tried many many clips, the Mummert clip is probably my favorite.
Been carrying the Jaeger every day for almost the past 6 months . I have the leather / kydex / lined sheath ( definitely better than just kydex ) and I absolutely love it ! The quality of the knife and sheath are 2nd too I’d say NONE . Winkler definitely knows how to make a product that will stay with you for a lifetime .
You watched it though so does this make you sorry as well? I’m confused on how this all works. I’m normally not a sorry ass lose who leaves negative comments on videos.
