I may not agree with all of his policies but God damn, Winston Peters knows how to handle himself. He's a proper, old-school politician, through and through.

Winston was on Radio Live six or so years ago, calling out the Federal Reserve as a private company a small mention but enough to Know Winston's no Globalist. He's a smart man that has seen alot he gets it, so does Trump and Farages Brexiters, its Globalists vs Humans. Peters speech - "10.11.16 - Government Motion - Congratulating President-elect Donald Trump" was awesome, and made me feel proud that someone in New Zealand gave Trump the respect he and his 62 million supporters deserve, shot bro

Kiwis don't take Paul Henry seriously, do they? I'd be interested to hear from our Kiwi cuzzies on how Henry is viewed these days in NZ. He apparently had a brief run on TV in Australia. I was living in America at the time, I think...not that I can stand to watch more than five mins of Australian TV at a time for fear of vomiting. I'd consider it a vomit worth having if it could be in David Koch's face.

America has a similar system, and that's caused no end of corruption, with polititions sitting in the pocket the pharmaceutical industry, amongst others...

NZ has one of the toughest markets in the world for Pharmaceutical companies to operate thanks to Pharmac and various restrictions on sales & marketing. If NZ politicians are getting payoffs from Pharmaceutical companies the Pharmaceutical companies need to get their money back.
When Peters created New Zealand First, one of his aims was to stop corruption in New Zealand politic. Im no fan of Peters but for those who are calling him a lie all charges were dropped against him and his party. And a final point is that whatever people say about him, he is in fact a fantastic politician!
That just goes to show that I'm never watching TVNZ ever again. And it's bloody true too all the media is good for is finding all the faults in the Govt. Ain't even interesting in any of the good points. Paul Henry is a tosser. Kudos to Winston for standing up to him never afraid to speak his mind. Bravo.
2023 and the man's kept the same energy. Don't like a lot of what he says but I've grown to love the way he conducts himself and handles bidniss. National treasure!
He's a fledgling New Zealand journalist who used to host the morning news programme, before being asked to leave on account of being "a pretty low calibre human being" [touche]. He then briefly secured a place on an Australian morning news show. Now he hosts some late-night programme back here. His 'selling point' is making pedestrian jokes a two-year-old could pull off better than he does. On one occasion he interviewed an Indian politician called Sheila Dikshit and spent the rest of the programme making a song and dance about her name in the most juvenile way. Even his fellow presenters were blushing and telling him to stop. Another time he interviewed a woman with facial hair and made sure to bring that fact to the nation's attention for three hours straight. Do a search on him -- I'm sure there are many clips of him behaving like an ape. I'm not sure what programme this clip is from -- we don't really have an equivalent of Fox News here -- but this is far from Paul Henry's worst. I'm so glad prime-time television has finally cleansed itself of him.
I'm glad I voted for Winston. He has integrity and intelligence. I resent the stereotyping of his supporters as being only old people- I'm still in my 20's, however I can see why many older New Zealanders would vote for him; he is one of the few remaining representatives of the gutsy old school approach to politics, and is a real kiwi. What a shame 'Don'-Key enjoys such support in NZ- a sad indictment on our society. Anyway, I enjoyed watching Winston destroy that imbecile Paul Henry. Thanks
I don't particularly like Winston Peters, but I gotta say he's got balls and says it how it is. That's one thing I do admire, its just when he gets asked the questions and beats around the bush is what pisses me off :-)
Au contraire, he has been one of our greatest politicians ever. He was a great minister of Maori affairs, the economy went great guns with him as treasurer before Shipley went on a power-trip and ruined everything, and he has been a great foreign affairs minister who deserves credit for the FTA with America. Also let's not forget he was the only party leader with the balls to vote against the prostitution bill, the civil unions bill and the anti-smacking bill.

Of course polls don't mean anything until election day, but of course they do suggest that perhaps you are far too hasty in declaring him being gone by the next election. 5% as he polled would see him back in parliament.
