In this video continuing my camp building series, I get back out to Camp Deadhorse and put together a heavy duty raised log bed inside the shelter. After shovelling out the camp, I head out in search of a large tree suitable for raising the log bed off the ground. Once I found a dead but sturdy enough tree, I dropped and bucked it with my axe, and hauled it's sections back to camp and began work on putting the bed together. I raised the large logs off the ground using wood from my log storage, stake them in with some leftover stakes from the wall building, which nearly destroyed my mallet and my wrists due to the frozen ground, and laid the bed logs on top making sure to fit them tightly to the walls, creating a fairly flat and comfortable bench/bed inside the shelter with a firewood area underneath and a gear storage area behind in the space between it and the back wall. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, and look forward to sleeping on it in the near future.
Thanks for watching,
Nicholas
