Great video Adam! And thank you sincerely for opening up and sharing your story. Right on! The intensity of your experience truly resonates, making it incredibly valuable to share within the community. A powerful reminder of the paramount importance of ice safety, and how quickly things can truly happen without warning. Again, thanks for sharing! Happy New Year, and safe future adventures!
Happy New Year !! No doubt Chester is missed by all . Thanks for showing the different tools .. nice element . We really appreciate the effort you take in putting the videos together . Looking forward to more in 24 from my new Favorite Channel 🎊 🎉
Great to see a new video. That must have been a life changing event you had with your buddy. Gives you a greater respect for voluntary firemen . So glad you guys survived going thru the ice. As for Chester, heck he is a Lab, they are very resilient. Wishing him a quick recovery because i miss my Chester fix! Happy New Year to the 3 of you!
A simple rule about fire wood amounts. When you think you have processed enough, triple it. Especially if it is soft wood, instead of hard wood. No matter what, arrive early and process as much wood as you can after setting up your shelter.
First video I've seen on this channel, but definitely subscribing! I haven't gone winter camping since I was a kid. That little stove is so cool, looked super cozy.
Adam, next video can you talk about any of your scary encounters with animals or the supernatural! Thst would be amazing! Also happy new years my fellow Canadian ❤️
Another great video ! That wood stove is awesome ! Going through the ice is very scary. Done it 3 times in my 62 yrs. , 1 time was pure stupidity , 1 was because someone made a big hole & did not mark it, & the 3rd. was mother nature creating a thin spot on a trail I had walked the previous 14 days ! I now wear a floatation suit. Glad to hear that your friend survived after being in the water so long. That is just crazy ! Love the hardwater but you have to respect it.
Happy new year to you! I like the tent. I'm glad Chester is better look forward to seeing him in the next video and I'm glad your friend is good. Thank you for sharing 😊
Happy new year to you and your family! Love the videos you guys do, cheers to another year of great adventures to come brother! Much love and respect to you from a diehard Boston Bruins fan hope your team is doing well this year brother.
I once fell through the ice in North Bay as a teenager and was not prepared as I had to walk back home a few kilometers in a freezing state. That was definitely a learning experience for me.
Hi Adam, Like the new tent, like the stove and a nice amount of snow. So glad I subscribed to your channel, you are now no.2 on my list of camping channels. (AB Camping is still no.1) Did miss Chester though, I hope he is doing better, looking forward to seeing him and Joelle again soon. 👍👍👍👍👍
Just an interesting note. I live in Colorado and we have all kinds of descriptions for the snow conditions. It’s interesting to hear your different terminology’s for ice conditions. Thanks for the video. Cheers.
Happy New Year Adam!! Wishing you and the crew great and safe adventures in 2024. I enjoy watching your videos, they’re both entertaining and educational That was a crazy ice story too. Cheers from Chicago 🍻
Your pepperoni pizza looked delicious but you needed to add finely chopped onions too + black or green olives. Onions have allot of nutrition value to them too, as well as the rest of all of your ingredients combined. What a very nice tent & wood stove too. Everyone enjoys camping + for some odd reason food always tastes better out camping too. ⛺ 🌲❤
Aww poor Chester. Hope he heals fast! That's scary about your friend. Good thing he made it out alright. That tent is pretty big. I like how it says it's a 2 person tent and it is really a 3 or 4 person tent. Usually brands say they are big enough for X amount of people but can fit half of that. Just curious if you have ever tried a propane heater instead of the wood burning stove.
Happy New Year to you too my friend. Love the new tent its looks bigger inside than outside Ah I feel so bad for Chester poor baby well I’m glad his doing better great video great food until next video stay warm stay healthy and god bless 🙏❤️✌🏼
Love your channel, Adam. Scary experience. Glad you and your buddy made it out ok. If it's Chester's back leg, please be careful in case he's torn his cruciate ligament....even a partial tear can be tricky and eventually become a full tear. Take care and look forward to your next video.
Happy New Year Adam. Really liking that stove. Been looking at a bunch of them and trying to get the best deal but do not want to get a cheap one and be sorry later. As for your falling through the ice I been there and done it. Worked on the pipe line many years ago. Decided to cross a beaver dam and got to almost the other side and broke through. I was by myself as my partner was about a 1\2 mile away with the trucks. When I got out I was soaked from my waist down. Pants were frozen and boots full of loon shit. Not a nice feeling for sure. 😂 Hope your dog feels better soon. Miss seeing the girfriend but I do understand she has to work.
I hope and pray that Chester doesn't get any after effects with that leg . Thank you Adam for informing all of us . Also could you give my regards to your other half . I hope all is well with her too cause I haven't seen her in the past couple of videos .💯❤️😇🙏😭😎👍
I took my Dewalt battery chainsaw last year when I went camping in the winter. Man that was handy! Hardly used any of the charged battery and I cut all I needed for 2 nights.
Tested out this same set up last year, if you had that vent closed all night you wouldve woke up to a bunch of frozen condensation on the inside, which then turns into rain when you fire up the stove again 😅 once you have 2 people and a dog in there, you will want to vent well or keep the stove going. Happy New Year, cheers to new adventures.
I have also fallen through the ice but lucky for me it was in 6' of water. Still not a fun experience. Always love your content Adam and glad Chester is on the mend. Sorry but he is the man....lol
good family friends of mine went though the ice on snowmobiles , both him and her passed away , leaving there daughter at the age of 28 with no parents . Playing on the ice is no joke.
Heal quickly Chester! Also, falling through the ice, talk about a bonding experience with a buddy that you don't ever want to have, glad you both made it out in one piece.
Great vid. I’m curious how many times you woke up to load that stove up overnight. I’ve only winter camped in a larger canvas tent with a barrel stove and I know with that, we’re throwing wood in there at least a few times overnight. Cheers!
1) Can you close dampers to where you can just minimally smolder your fuel? Burning hot just dumps more heat outside 2) If not, good luck waking up every hour to add splits. Unrealistic more than 1-2 nights
I’m from Miami coldest days over here gets to 50 and somehow I’m binge watching these videos lol tbh I probley wouldn’t survive 2 days I wouldn’t know what to do 😂😂
Did you take Chester to the vet? Sometimes little things like that are a warning sign of something bigger. Always a good idea to get your pet checked out just in case. I wouldn't want anything to happen to Chester. He's so sweet. ☃️
