That's CO detector is very important. A couple died together due to Carbon monoxide poisoning when they did an overnighter last month in selkirk manitoba. Thanks Clayton for the tips.

Hey Clayton, as far as the baby wipes go, look up “Hoo- Ahhs field towels “ . They are made in MN and they are the best. Weeks in the field they are a life saver and they do not make you stink like the “un scented “ baby wipes do. Random I know but trust me they are worth it .

Im 61 and have yet to ice "camp" but you make it look like great fun. Might have to try it. Here in Colorado you have to be off the lake at night....at least most lakes.

Baby wipes are a Fricken lifesaver. We use them all the time moose hunting for a quick freshen up. Quicker then waiting for the water to heat up on the wood stove to have a mediocre rinse haha.

For cooking on ice, I use either non-stick aluminum foil, aluminum foil containers, or a combination of both to cook with. With not to much of a learning curve, you can cook on pretty well every type of stove or heater with that combination. The only thing I'm careful on, is a single propane burner. I always make a thick foil plate, at least 8 layers thick, so that the actual foil you are cooking with doesn't melt. I can steam, boil, sautee, and fry using foil. Once finished, the 'cook wear' just cumples up into a little ball and there is no cleanup.

Your a brave guy putting your fingers in that pike mouth ! I started to cringe and pucker , they dont like to let go when they clamp down . This summer, I landed a pike that had a 1-1/2" hole through its rib cage and into its body cavity. You could see it's internal organs! It was an obviously old injury, so I was amazed that not only was it surviving, but apparently thriving. It was the first time that I wanted to give a fish something to eat before releasing it lol. But it's just another example of how tough they can be.
