You guys are awesome. You know exactly how to keep the viewer's attention. I'll say honestly that on Uncut Angling videos, I never fast-forward or get bored. Excellent video and excellent fish.
I've caught a carp like that before. Even with a hook in the mouth there still hard to pull in. Pretty epic that you could catch it on a foul hook and fly fishing rod
Here carps are longer on Danube and it can happend ones or twice in season to catch him on grub, twister or small shad, usually in early autumn when water start to cooling from hot summer. Last season I got one around 12 pounds but that carp on video is really big one
I agree they are fun to catch and eatable if caught in the spring (smoked or pickled) but I believe what is shown at 4:08 is Cyprinus carpio. They are not native to North America and were brought here from Europe around 1810 in hopes of providing a cheap source of food. These are considered to be a "rough" by most fish agencies but there are other species that are given protection due to vulnerabilities.
That carp could have a roe infection, don't know what it's called in English but directly translated from Danish it would be stone roe. It's where the carp don't get to lay it's eggs for some reason, then it get's infected and it can't get rid of the roe. It will over time kill the fish, unless it have the roe removed under surgery. But there are also genetic lines of Carp that look like that across Europe, so it might just be different genetics. Once again, nice video guys!
is that a contour action camera? and if it is, does it never come lose on your hat? are their videos of the point of view from the contour? great videos, it looks like it would be fun fishin with u guys!
Gabe Fuller Yes it is a Contour....our earliest videos have some shots from that perspective, but we gradually phased out using them because we found that we rarely included the footage from that angle anyways.
@ 2:30 The beakflap of the pike is on the inside, always check if a pikes mouth is all ok before putting it back, textbook beginners error!., I've seen fish that have all misgrown beaks because of this (they cant get it back by themselves, and its always caused by human error).
I have caught carp on a fly but in a really heavy stocked carp lake but the time it took to catch one I could of caught 10/20 on corn pellet worm whatever and ya wouldent see a carp full of eggs that time of year in that temp
That was a female full of eggs. It's good to cull those carp because they are non-native and increase turbidity. They also eat the spawn of native species.
