The route is 28 miles long and is a mixture of gravel and small roads. It is a ride which will weather fairly well in wet conditions, perfect for this time of year.
It starts in Rowsley. The carpark is situated off the Bakewell road, at the start of Old Station Close.
The route goes over to the Monsal Trail and winds it's way over to the William Hill Track above Eyam, returning via Longstone Moor. It does include some steady climbs and a short section of quite rough terrain but the views are worth it.
The subscribers ride ** Sunday 17th March ** Keep this date free!
At this stage I am thinking about starting in the White Peak (either at Middleton Top or Rowsley) , dependent on weather and ground conditions. I will finalise details, nearer the time. Please mention below, if you are thinking of joining us!
The route can be downloaded from Komoot here: www.komoot.com...

Great post as always! Iv probably said this b4, but it makes me laugh out loud how you can cycle and narrate your posts, even whilst cycling up steep hills. I've pencilled the 17th in my diary, despite being a little apprehensive, as I'm not even on the same planet as yourself regarding level of fitness!🤯 I understand how frustrating it must be for you having such lovely channel and for some reason (I don't understand why) it doesn't have the subscribers/support it should have. But be patient, it's a smashing channel and folk will find you, I'm sure! Your background in professional cycling must have equipped you with a lot of knowledge around training, preparation for events/races/tours..could you utilize any of that!? Nutrition is a big thing when preparing for challenges of any kind, as you know. Are there any companies you could get to sponsor episodes for you to try out their gels or hydration products over an endurance ride or two. Equipment choices? You've done a couple of good posts on bike computers. You're personal over nighter stuff, what about some more of those, they were great! Have you thought about doing some more bikepacking themed rides? Bikepacking is really popular. I know from other channels I follow, that they often change the titles. Rather than just bikepacking, they'd say something like, Bikepacking in the Helm Compact 1. And in that way the algorithm would attract folk looking @that tent/whatever equipment you mentioned as well?! Folk have noticed that certain posts get more views when they play with the title and include specific products. It's about researching popular products. One post commented how the views doubled (due to algorithms) because they mentioned their Durston tent, which sells like hot cakes, and a different post the same thing happened when they used a Hilliberg tent. Even if you borrow equipment that's popular and mention it in the title..worth a try? I definitely think you should put..blah, blah route on Sonder Camino Ti..that would activate the algorithm in your favour! If it were myself, I would mention it every ride, and if you alternate your bikes, one ride Sonder, another..whatever brand of Mountain Bike you have, then you need to mention them to differentiate which you're using!? Perhaps, also some of the knowledge that you perhaps don't realise that us beginners/inexperienced riders would love to know/learn!?!? Even elements of your professional career/experience as a rider of multi-disciplines. Why you've settled into gravel bikes as opposed to mountain bikes. Perhaps do routes on different bikes (so you can mention them in the title)and see which is quicker? Set up a leader board for guest riders/subscribers (like Top Gear)riding a specific route!? Challenge riders you know, or guest riders from other channels, to ride the opposite direction on a circular route. You'll cross paths at some point, but who will make it back to the start first? That would be fun! Hope that I'm not patronizing you, as you've probably thought of all of these things and more. Just trying to inspire you, as you do for those of us that enjoy your channel. You have a wealth of knowledge and experience that I feel would draw folk in more quickly if they would only be guided to your channel. Take care Julie, and as always, lookin forwards to your next post!😊

Thanks Tim for all your support and ideas. You certainly have made me think about some different ideas. At present I am racking my brains about potential clothing sponsorship/ ambassador ideas- how I could convince a company etc It has to be more than routes in the Peak District because it’s not sustainable in the long term. I do have a couple of bike packing routes ‘ up my sleeve’ . I have got to ‘think out of the box’ a bit more. I really appreciate your help with this. Anymore ideas , keep ‘em coming. You take care my friend. Re: the ride I am planning a social ride for all.

@@JuliePhelanExplore You're most welcome! I think what you do, u do wonderfully; but agree totally with you, u can't just do routes around the peaks (as enjoyable as they are). And as I said previously, I'm sure if you changed your titles from just the route you intend to ride, to Sonder Camino ti on blah, blah..route. Or Gravel biking on blah, blah route; then the algorithms will automatically put ur post in2 mor feeds. Really think you should give that a go! I'm quite excited about your proposed Bikepacking trips. That's what I'm personally interested in, and that's what really brought me to your channel (see what I mean about the algorithms?) Once I found your channel, there were loads you'd already done that had never popped up on my feed before. Folk are looking for certain things, and once you've attracted them to your wonderful channel, they would stay, I'm sure. It's just one of those things, you just have to be patient and keep turning out quality rather than quantity, like you're already doing. But it is infuriating I'm sure. Take care Julie, waiting patiently for the next Phelan Production 🎬 😊

Of course it’s fine . I’m using a Hammerhead Karoo2 . I’ve done a video about it- an honest opinion, I’m not sponsored. My New Bike Computer: Hammerhead Karoo 2 - Not Just For Geeks! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4PUqkmsrG3k.html

Usually the BW is really dry but there’s a feeding area just off the track. The tractor seems to be using the track to drop off hay etc and is making it a bit of a mess eh😒
