In this video I show you my newest winter theme journal pages in my winter junk journal. I do a flip through of these pages while talking about some of my challenges with the creative process and how I tried to go with the flow and not overthink what I didn't like. I used many digitals from Etsy in these pages to help me create a real winter wonderland.

I’ve learned to embrace that part of my joy is collecting! I’ve been working to accept the fact that it’s okay to enjoy those things that I collect, and that part of my personality. It’s all part of who we are and the creative mind. So much of my ephemera, papers, etc, will never be in a journal or anything else. I will be diligent to be honest to let go of those things when they no longer give me joy. It’s a very fluid and creative way to enjoy what we do! No guilt! Maybe think about giving some thought to looking at your ephemera with that frame of mind? I know it doesn’t work for everyone, but it has been life-changing for me. ❤️❤️❤️ I enjoy your videos so much and I love hearing your honesty, and the inspiration that you share with us! Thank you for all the time you spend making these videos. 🥰 Oh! And I looove that you used the large images! I’m quite inspired by that right now! 😀

Thank you so much for your very kind words :) That is very sweet of you! You are right on so many levels. I too am a collector (obviously LOL!) and like you, I should just finally embrace it and not fight it any longer. You are right, just be fluid and no guilt!! What is down here has been a collection over 25 years in the making so why should I be ashamed or shun it???! You are so right! Good for you in allowing yourself the freedom - word of the year- to creatively follow what your heart wanted to do in YOUR journal! As hard as it is to quiet those guilt and shame voices, you did it!!! Bravo!!!!! The other stuff/junk will get used, or it won’t, and either way, that’s totally okay! And I think I learned from a very wise woman via video (YOU) that there is no “right” way to journal. Good for you to let go of “should” and do what gave you joy. I heard the saying “stop shoulding all over yourself” and that is one powerful concept! Wahoo!!! Now, I’ll need you to remind me of those very words when I do the exact same thing! 😂 The pages turned out beautifully and were so well thought out and harmonious! Way to go my friend!! LOVE the crowned owl!!!!❤

YES! Freedom!!! I was very tuned in to that word during this process and it genuinely helped me to flow much better :) It's the guilt isn't it that is the real issue. Ugh. It is a process but working on the guilt is HARD. I will get it the other ephemera for sure. I started playing with things today and I think I like where it is going. “stop shoulding all over yourself”...omg, I know. We all do it and we do it a lot. Super annoying! But, I 100% stick with there is no right or wrong way to journal. It has to feel organic to you bc it an extension of you. I will be here to remind you. Just ask and Ill be your biggest cheerleader :) Hugs xo

When you get a minute read The Black Cat, (it’s online) It’s dark and twisted, but also amusing, in an odd way. Thank you for mentioning The Pale Blue Eye….I will look for it. I find him interesting…maybe misunderstood? Your journal is so thoughtful. There is a lot to reflect on in those beautiful pages. And I love all the fun images too. Well done, as usual. ❤

You are a Poe fan too???! yes! I will look for The Black cat tonight, thank you :) I watched The Pales Blue Eyes while working a few weeks ago and thought it was kinda dull and boring TBH. Then, Emma told me how much she loved it so I thought Id try again. This time I actually sat myself on the sofa w a glass of wine and watched it with my full attention. Second time, I LOVED it. I loved the actors, the costumes are amazing and I was really captivated. It isn't very "exciting" per say but I am glad I gave it another shot. The guy who plays Poe is amazing. Let me know what you think xo

Great video and I love your thought process. I have a happy mail journal that houses those treasures ( thank you) for inspiration. I love my collections and I embrace them. You love your digitals, and it shows in your work❤

Lisa, you hit the nail on the head about letting yourself create the way you want and to accept that sometimes you have to let it go. I love your creative thoughts. I wanted to ask you about the images you find. They are all so unique, like the deer, the owl, etc. Where do you find such unique images? Do you scan and print them that big? Thanks for always inspiring me!🥰

Thanks Nancy! Yes, when we are in the midst of a head vs. heart pull, many times you need to let your heart win :) But, it's strange how it takes practice to do that. We humans are strange creatures sometimes ;) I the digitals I used all came from Etsy and a lot of other images are things I have collected and saved on my computer over the years. I size and alter things in Photoshop and then print from there :) I am thrilled to have inspired you and of course have you here w me ! Thanks for watching! Hugs xo
