In this video, I drive a Maxus eDeliver 3 electric van with the smaller 35kWh battery in the winter, to test the range. These vans are also called the Maxus/LDV EV30 in other markets. The 35kWh model typically does around 100-150 miles range. They also are available with a larger 52.5kWh battery, which typically does around 150-200 miles per charge.
In this short test, I'm driving in the UK winter, in the snow and wet, in 1 degrees C temperatures, with the heating and heated seat on. Plus I've sat running the heater for an additional 25 minutes, yet still did 32.5 miles using 33% of the battery, which makes a 98 miles range. Without running the heater for 25 minutes, this would be over 100 miles.
The Maxus eDeliver 3 playlist (i.e. more videos) is • Maxus eDeliver 3

Good, someone telling it like it is, unlike these "professional" RU-vid presenters simply repeating information from manufacturers' crib sheets.

That appears to work out at nearly 3 miles per KWh, depending on how much of the battery is available, which is pretty impressive. Much better than the MSM would have us believe!

The reality is that it would be far better if I drove for longer, as there was a lot of energy used for initial heating and parked up for 25 mins.

Will do. Currently 25 videos stacked up, which will continue to be released 1 or 2 per week.

Not bad really considering the conditions and the length of the journey...not to mention the McDonald's stop!

What's battery degradation like on these, and is it a heatpump..? :)

No heat pump, they have a PTC heater. If you look at this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175589164920 you can see the orange high voltage connector on the PTC heater. As for battery degradation, I've not found anything that can read/measure this. But they have an LFP battery and you really don't need to worry about it. In most cases, the battery will outlast the van!

Can you not have it plugged in and heating the car at the same time before you set off to not batter the range?

I would have said "no". But then I've tested this today and filmed it, so will upload the video later this afternoon. The answer is probably still "no" for most people, but there is one scenario when manual pre-conditioning does work.

So a 35 kwh in a van gets similar range to a Nissan Leaf, ouch.

Yes, but its a big box, not an aerodynamic hatchback. The eD3 one of the most efficient electric vans and is available with a 52kWh battery also.
