Next one should be either death of the healing or winter madness. Both are freaking masterpieces. in Death of the healing you will hear the greatest sweeping guitar parts ever written and in winter madness has the best solo ever written

Please do *"Wintersun - The Way Of The Fire (Live in Hollywood Multicam) [Remaster]"* It's a track from their highly anticipated album Time II and I'd say easily the best song they've ever written. The recording might not be studio quality but the experience is more than worth it.

Yes, this one flows beautifully and it's a bit folky. You have a pretty good idea of Finnish melancholy by now - we tend to cherish our gloom and doom. 😂 To contrast this I would recommend "Cathedrals of Mourning" by the funny heavy metal cartoon characters the Belzebubs (official video).

I played Time by Wintersun for my son, and he really liked it. I did too, and I loved this one even better. I think their guitar harmonies are fantastic.

That's awesome Gayle! Time is my 2nd favorite of the ones I've heard so far. Loneliness is my favorite, a bit slower pace and a little sorrowful, but man, what a beautiful song

This is a very Finnish song. The lyrics and all. And the melody reminds me of some Finnish (Karelian?) folk song.

They are using a lot of backing tracks... I think Sons of Winter and Stars has 200 tracks. Jari aim into perfection and he has clear vision how songs should sound. I hope you could check also Forest That Weeps from Forest seasons album. Also first album Wintersun has really great songs like Death and Healing or Starchild or Sadness and Hate or Winter Madness.

Sons has over 1400 tracks on the mixer. How many individual instruments though, idk. Though I'd say if one were to end up with 1400 tracks in the mixer, there's a problem with the workflow.

@@ThaBeatConductor My thoughts exactly, doesn't seem like he really has clear goal when he sets out or maybe he has but he figures out things that would work better mid way and we get epic stuff like whole time 1.

@@kookoo9235 It's the quest for unobtainable perfection that makes it take so long. What I meant about workflow is that it's highly likely there's a way to make sons without 1400 mixer tracks. Highly inefficient workflow, both in terms of personal flow and computer processor utilization. I've learned to always "bounce" tracks down wherever I can when producing audio. Way more efficient in both previously stated aspects.

@@Yeedeed Are you looking for some good melodic/symphonic death metal? There is a band Brymir that deserves way more attention than they get. Gloria In Regum, The Black Hammer, For Those Who Have Died, Patheon of Forsaken Gods, Wings Of Fire, Ride On Spirit. All 10/10 tracks imo. Symphonic/Melodic/Bombastic and Finnish.
