Using the Sentinel stripping knives and chalk Dieny Uiterwijk strips a Wire Fox Terrier out of a full coat. This is stage one of the stripping process. She shows you where to start and which stripping knives to use for which areas of the dog. She also shows a lot of tips and tricks for stripping the Wire Fox Terrier.

Dieny grew up with Fox Terriërs. At a very young age she started to show and groom them. Because she was so interested in the breed she moved to England for 9 years and worked in the famous Saredon kennel. There she was very successful in showing Airedales, Welsh Fox, Lakeys, Dandies, Scotties, Westies etc. She won Best In Show at the most prestigious Fox Terriër Show, 3 times. Today she works together with her husband Rony De Munter in their grooming salon “Foliny” and their kennel (van Foliny Home).

What a beautiful, handsome fellow. I grew up with a WFT and I miss him so much. He was not as well behaved, but we loved him just as he was. So lively and smart.

By far the best video on WFT handstripping! 👏 Bravo! I live in a remote area in the USA and the one groomer who knew how moved away. My little guy is so furry. I love this stage one and the stage two video. I could never quite put my finger on how to shape him but you give such good bench marks for the jacket and face and legs. Thank you so much! I feel like I could attempt it on my own with some good tools. 💗

I have watched a lot of videos about hand stripping. However, your video is extremely educational and has details that other videos lack. Until now, I used the services of my friend Australian Champion in dog grooming, but due to covid restrictions, I cannot go to her and I have to do it myself. This young fox terrier in the film is extremely calm and nice. I would like such a partner for my 3 years old female. Regards from Sydney

This video is so amazing! My fox terrier pup cannot stay still and is scared every time I try to groom her. Do you have any advice on how to make her less scared and more patient?

Also, she doesn't have much coarse hair around the neck area, mostly really fluffy soft hair that's difficult to strip. We have never clipped her hair, only stripping. Is this normal?

Hello , Thank you for your message . normally, when it's not for a video , it takes about 2 to 3 hours from beginning till finish . only the finish is about 1 hour, depending if it's a show dog or competition or home dog . Please let us know if we can help you further . Kind regards;
