@@LudicrousFeed definitely big improvement with this latest update I find the indicator sound seems quieter now as well as all the beeps and bongs which are much quieter, and now with wireless apple car play as well I leave everything on now just don’t have the speed warning sound which thankfully stays off al the time. Big improvements with the last 2 updates
Took delivery of my BYD seal last week in the UK my first electric car and I’m very impressed in fact so impressed I’d be hard pushed to go back to anything else now.
many Seal AWD drivers complains about high consumption due to the front motor will not smart disconnect when not nessesary. A theory of some drivers is a link zu ITAC... did you experience a difference in consumption when ITAC is ON or OFF? a norwegian YT channel has a very interesting "test" concerning Seal AWD and it seems that car is thirsty
My Seal is RWD LR so I can’t comment too much about ITAC however I’ve found my car to be fairly efficient both on urban roads and highways so far: Long Range BYD Seal Highway Range and Efficiency Driving in the Rain ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4N_0qB13Kkc.html
Hey Tom, thanks again for answering my last question. I am now choosing the right vid to ask this question: I’ve already got wireless Apple CarPlay set up. However it doesn’t seem to always appear at the top left of the BYD Home Screen when I step into the car. Radio seems to be the default. I will then have to go to the “Apple CarPlay” app of the car to start CarPlay, it will take a second to connect and then the CarPlay Home Screen will appear. Does the same thing happen to you or will CarPlay always just connect automatically when you step in? I have a feeling that it is because the car will always first connect to my iPhone’s Bluetooth when the car is switched on, and then when u try to connect to CarPlay, the Bluetooth connection will then be kicked out before it connects with CarPlay. Is there a way to have CarPlay connect wirelessly immediately the moment I step in (have it appear at the top left of the BYD home screen), without having to go and select CarPlay from the BYD list of apps?
It’s a bit hit and miss at the moment … usually it works well but on the odd occasion I have to tap on the CarPlay icon to initiate the connection. Minor inconvenience..
Hey how are you ? First i would like to thank you for everything you are doing , its really helpful and you have played a big role in me selecting the BYD seal as a car 😂✌🏻. I just wanted to ask if you have managed to install any 3rd party apps as the seal doesnt allow you to install them through the system.
@@abdullaalblooki1527 Watch this one, I discuss the apps currently available for download: BYD Seal OTA Software Update 2401 V1.1 Australia Walkthrough and Drive ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CQwmDVC7auM.html
This update on the Atto 3 (V1.8) works well too. A little tricky connecting wireless carplay but works well after first connection. A couple of bugs from 1.7 haven't been fixed. When in carplay on the split screen with audio on left and navigation on right, no matter what navigation you were using before switching to split screen will only show Apple Maps and no other navigation software. This was fixed in 1.6 then went wrong again in 1.7 and is same in 1.8. Also the settings switch for turning off daytime running lights when car is put in Park, changes back to always on by itself. Hope they fix those small annoyances next time. Love the flashing lights with the music rhythm now working on Apple Music.
Finally updated to the newest software version from when the dealer set it back to the first one and things are much better. Barely audible bongs and beeps for the speed sign recognition system and the turn signals are audible as well, as I remember they softened to with the first update. Also one feature that we didn’t know it had was: when it rains the windows automatically close. We were driving in rainy Sydney last night and had the windows cracked open for fresh air and the moment the auto wipers activated both front windows rolled up. Good feature if you aren’t driving in the car, but was weird that it was while we actually were driving. Just wanted to say I think it’s part of the new software update. Cool feature. Also read that you can use the climate control without the car on, for camping et cetera (not sure about sleeping in the car camping, but it’s possible for sure now). Here’s hoping they continue rolling out new OTA updates to further improve accuracy of the ICC amongst other things. Do you happen to know if the car actually has matrix LEDs and they will possibly be activated by a software update (like Teslas were) is the actual hardware needed just not there? Really loving the Seal Performance. The range seems in improve the more we’ve had the car, and it’s been faultless since we first bought it. Thanks for the recommendation and your review of the car. Really made a solid choice.
Well, either the OTA update system is slower than treacle or something is broken. I am still waiting here in Oz despite this video. How can Apple provide push updates to 10-100s of millions of devices in days yet I am still waiting. What is the Ipdate bottom for? From what I can see for telling me that it has to check my SW version and then exiting. Very disappointing experience so far. Pity given how good the car has been apart from this.
They do release the OTA in batches ... I've had the same experience also with Tesla. I know it's frustrating to see others get their updates on social media but it will come ... 🙏
Great content mate , I get my new performance in shark grey tomorrow. I just hope I don’t have any issues , there is still plenty of negative information on RU-vid about byd that’s for sure. Warranty terms are worrying. Why have so many exclusions or limited years on parts, there still not a cheap car
Just noticed I posted a new version upgrade notice on the previous v1.1 upgrade video and not this one, anyway, same info as a FYI, I have just had a 1.2.1 update today in addition to the 1.2 a few weeks ago.
UK owner here. I noticed since the 2403 update the parking sensor volume is really reduced, which isn't helpful! Can't see a way to increase the volume for them.
Cheers Tom, as always. So I’m guessing in the (hopefully never) situation where your car is stolen, you could “locate” it with the app? Or do you think the range might be limited, not including whether the car is in a signal black spot?
I have a feeling that AION GAC Group will be the next to invite you to fly to Guangzhou. Then you will be able to taste authentic Cantonese cuisine there
Thanks lot for sharing the updates. I am living and using my BDY Seal U in Europe, and with the last OTA software my current software is 2405120.1 which brought all the elements mentioned in the video. However, after the software child presence on/off selection under ADAS is gone which is super critical for me because sometimes I am leaving my dog in the car for short periods and without turning off the child presence, car alarms like crazy. Can you please guide how should I turn off the child presence? thanks
Great update Tom, Thanks. Have just uploaded my Seal Premium with the new update, based in Melbourne. It took a while for the update to show once you hit the update toggle on the screen. It then took over an hour to complete and restarted twice. This while connected to my home wifi, so suggest do those steps and it should work. Apple carplay is working as well. Have a long drive tomorrow so all will be tested. Cheers
@@LudicrousFeed Sorry Tôm, my bad, for some reason the CCS was disabled in the ADAS setting after the update. The major issue I currently have now is the vibrating steering wheel while driving noticeable from 40km per hour that the service centre could not fix since I bought the car.
Hi Tom Great review as usual. This update has been carried out on my Seal but I’m still having the traffic sign recognition come on when I restart the car despite disabling it, (the same way as you demonstrated on one of your earlier videos), every time I drive. Have I missed a step in the process?
Hmm you made me doubt myself haha so I went to try it again and it definitely stays off. Maybe try rebooting your car? Hold onto the Volume Control button for 5 seconds
Interesting: mine already has the gesture control for the A/C, however my ISLI turns back on after every restart, and i haven't done an update for 2 weeks.. 🤷
Thank God these features that Seal owners are so excited about are already installed in my Sealion 6 upon pickup from dealership. Guess I am lucky enough not to experience all the inconveniences that previous software versions caused. 🥳🥳
I have a dolphin here in Perth. I am trying to set up the wireless apple car play - Not working so far. I would like to try rebooting the infotainment system - but I cant find out how. Anyone have any ideas?
Haven’t tried because it was already “fixed” in the V1.1 2301 update: BYD Seal OTA Software Update 2401 V1.1 Australia Walkthrough and Drive ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CQwmDVC7auM.html
@LudicrousFeed I thought that this update had that option. I find the steering wheel being snapped one way or another out of my hands quite dangerous. I had it permanently switched off on my previous car.
