I have to buy a wireless ddoorbell and wasn't sure if I could do the project myself. You made it look so easy, so I think I will try it myself. Thank you so much for your video!
Thank you. I have bought 3 wireless doorbells. They all work untill I mount the push button. Then they do not work any more. I am very frustrated with them but I really need a doorbell. The ones I bought are Hampton Bay from Home depot. Maybe I should try the Honeywell.
If you bring the door bell push inside next to the doorbell does it work? If it works then you might have a signal issue, if not you might want to check the batteries. FYI, my Honeywell has worked great for over 2 years.
thank you for your reply. My old one worked for a couple of years. Then it stopped working, so I replaced all of the batteries and it still would not work. That is why I bought new ones. I do believe it is a signal problem. My brother even bought me one that plugs into an outlet and it does not work either. If it is a signal problem, I don't know what it could be. I even placed the bells just inside the door and they wouldn't work. Since I am in the back of my house most of the time, I never know when some one comes to my door. I know that could be a good thinkg most of the time. My family knows to call me when they are comming over. I wish everyone would do that instead of just showing up out of the blue.
Clear and detailed instructions! We purchased a new wireless door bell from home depot and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't even ring. Do you think its a problem with our install or the door bell? We had the same problem with another wireless doorbell which we had returned. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!
+digdug I would try moving the base unit around and see if there is a location where it works all the time. There might be something in the wall interfering with the signal.
great video. b/c of this, I am going to be purchasing this model soon. quick question... I obviously have a previous doorbell system. with the new wireless one, for the actual doorbell button outdoors, can I simply detach the old button outside and place the new one over it? are there additional steps I will need to set it up or is that pretty much it? appreciate a response. thank you.
If your old doorbell is the wired type you could remove the old push button and tape the wire ends going to the transformer, then install the new wireless push button in its place. If your old system is wireless then simply replace the old push button with the new one.
Atlas Novus According to the manual when the chime batteries are low and amber light will flash every 5 seconds. Two beep sounds after the normal chime sound indicates a low battery in the bell push.
i doubt it by the looks of the design. I think these are more for older homes that the wiring is shorted or the transformer is lost in the ceiling/walls only to be found in a reno
