Thank you! Seeing as how the manual was only for setup I was frustrated not knowing what all the camera could do. You explained it all clearly and now I will keep it!! Thank you so much for your video!
In Australia marketed as ORION sold by Bunnings A$99 app by Grid Connect , battery for me only lasts a week?? So connected to a USB output solar panel and backup battery pack (18650’s) Be careful plugging the USB micro cable in and out as the surface mount female connector is badly soldered into place , mine broke off , Bunnings replaced unit on the spot no questions asked 😊 other than that great doorbell for the price. Can be used as a remote security camera.
It would be great to see a video that takes you step by step on Wi-Fi setup for the Doorbell. My first DB would not communicate with the Chime. I received a replacement from Amazon but now the replacement does not work at all. The steps in the accompanying instructions seems to skip something.
Very nice review. XTU just sent me one for reviewing. I don't normally like to watch other reviews, before making mine, but I have zero experience with this kind of tech item and figured I would check out a couple of uploaded reviews to familiarize myself with this product. You did a great job and your review was top notch.
Great picture quality and settings but the motion detection delay is useless. Even on the highest setting the camera didn't detect motion until I was right in front of it less than 2 feet.
Very interesting. This wireless camera (smart) doorbell is branded as Orion in New Zealand and Australia. Sold at Bunnings. It works with the Grid Connect App. Does is work with Alexa?
What about the response time? How long when your phone is on wifi does it take from a bell press to your phone ringing? How long before motion detection sends a notification? Does the app always have to be running like some of the other cheap smart doorbells? What does the chime sound like? What's the sound quality like on both ends? What's the delay in the video connection like? More information would be useful.
Vague installation instructions (Chinese people trying to translate into English , and not very well). Can not get this unit to stay connected to my WiFi, at all. Sending this puppy back.
View the doorbell camera via the app, click on the 3 dotted line on the top right, then click on ‘Basic Functions’ in Basic Settings, tap on the ‘Audio Settings’ and make your switch to 2 - way audio
Well this is a video doorbell correct? i ask because you never tested anyone pushing the button for alerts so in my opinion i'm unable to determine If you get notifications on phone when button is pushed.
I bought one of these and hadn't got around to actually installing it...charged it up and in less than a week, got the low-battery warning. I shan't bother - having to rerove it and recharge that frequently would juse oe a pain in the arse.
Just ordered one it's called the Kamep in the UK on amazon. I would of bought the Ring 2 but they're sold out but this seems just as good with a 166 degree angle and I like the fact you can zoom in.
I bought this exact doorbell. It worked fine for about a month. Then it just stopped working. Just a constant red blinking light. I tried to reset it but nothing happened.
The detection is horrible on this. There is only low or high. Get soo many false notifications and even on high I can watch someone walk in front of my house and it doesn't record anything. It's terrible.
I haven't tested this long term, but people are reporting 1-4 months. If you get a lot of foot traffic and it's picking up motion detection then it would probably be more on the 1 month side.
Definitely not unless these ppl are using a different battery . The one that comes with the doorbell camera only lasts about 24hours literally so unless you have to keep charging it ever other day it say go for this one. 🤦🏽♀️
@@vibewithspiritmeditation My battery runs out pretty quick too, so I just leave it plugged in all the time. Maybe my settings are draining it too quickly, but what's the point of this if you have to turn off motion to save on battery? It's even set to low detection. I want to see who is there either in real time or view it later. 🤔
@@TheRapnep precisely this is a device for people that don’t check their cameras ever or for pol that don’t get a lot of activity in from of their camera otherwise. Any and everything you use it from will drain the battery quickly I did upgrade to the ring doorbell but it’s not as good as picking up movement as this was was I moved this one to my back door where all my deliveries come and put the ring on the front door the ring by fair is 100x better on battery
I have a question, my doorbell intercom states , I need authorization required when I press intercom on the app. Now I have updated the Cloudedge App. Still says the same message. I never got this message before. Have any suggestions please let me know. I have the exact same door bell. God bless you as well.
Why didnt u go through the setup process properly. Like using reset button etc. Cause people.like me having a problem with that. And how to use the reset pin kn the video doorbell itself?
The reset is not in the side of the unit. It is next to where you plug in the charger under the flap on the bottom. If you look at the manual under 2. Meet the doorbell number 9 should show you where the reset is. I made the mistake of thinking it is on the side of unit but that’s the microphone. Hope that helps.
Silly question. I got this today and will set up tomorrow. When it is on low charge, do I just put in the specific batteries or can I use the usb cable in place of that? Or is it only powered by batteries? Hope that makes sense!!!
Hi there, is there any way to put my ORION video doorbell in silent mode? I just want to see the camera and see if someone is coming. And I don't want to hear the bell every time someone presses the button of the doorbell. The sound is so loud! All my neighbours can hear it, so annoying! Thanks
It does not have to be running all of the time. Just be sure to have your notifications on so you can hear the when someone rings the bell, if you have not got the chime to work.
Question, How can I test the Chime? I went to Basic Function, Wireless Function and sent Paring. But no sound is coming out of the chime ;( any recommendations, plz?
@@Hashterix Thank you for reply :) I actually gave up & the bell itself stopped charging about 1 month ago, so I just went and got Amazon Ring & its chime.. and they are working like how they should & I'm very happy with it.
Press the doorbell ring THEN press and hold the chime reset button located behind the circular chime and you will hear a prompt noise then pair and connect add your wifi.
Can someone tell me how long it needs to be charged for ? Because once I take remove the cable from the doorbell it switches off and won’t turn on unless it’s connected to the cable ? It also says the charge is low on the app I’ve charged it for a few days but it still won’t go up
Can I only do manual chosing the recordings or is there any chance to do this automatically? In my app it shows that there's no Sd card but actually it in the doorbell
Would this be a good idea for rented houses or apartments/flats? I live in a rented house with a shared access pathway past my door to my neighbour's door who backs on to my house. I have had problems missing deliveries and most recently, a parcel was lost somewhere in transet, but it made it as far as my house since the blasted delivery driver posted a card through the door and the order info said it was near my front door when it was in fact, nowhere near my front door. Aaaaarrgh! Also, I'm vision impaired, so do these bells work with smart speakers like the ring doorbell cameras? I have Google home speakers up and downstairs, so that would be a useful feature if it tells me whose outside so I can quickly get my dog back indoors if I know whomever is outside is scared of dogs.
From someone who owns one of these doorbells: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP. It is ridiculously unreliable, doesn't ring the chime most of the time, is very poorly designed software-wise. You will regret buying this thing.
@@TipsNNTricks 11 min video and you provided not one step on how to connect. to the app. All you wanted do is show off your raggedy house. 11 mins of nonsense.
My Cloud app is different. There is no way to adjust the sound or other option as yours showed. There are no 3 dots in the upper right either. It says i have the most recent version
Mine doesn't have the "alert only when a person is in view" button and it keeps going off I guess because of the wind. I already have my motion detection on low. Any other suggestions?
I don't like how the camera does not show to the left it only shows to the right and directly in front of it so if I put it on the right side of my door we're supposed to go it does not show who's in front of my door it only show half of them unless they step way back and there is nothing to fix this issue I do not like this camera do not recommend it unless there's a way to fix the camera. The camera is not centered and it's viewings
My unit works well. The only problem I have is that when I am away from the house and my wifi range, I will get a notification that "motion has been detected" but I can't connect to the camera to see who or what is there. Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this?
@@ketobodybuilder2482 its screwed, its in the buttom i have one of this sadly i cant add the device to the app or connect to wifi. so im returning this piece of $&#%
My chime doesn’t seem to be working either. I’m really bummed out actually. Not sure what’s happening. If anyone could guide me, that would be very much appreciated.
Hey, after setting it up the first time everything was working, but I took the battery put for testing and it wont connect. I tired to start the process or resetting again and manually setting but it still wont work. Any help?
The reset is not in the side of the unit. It is next to where you plug in the charger under the flap on the bottom. If you look at the manual under 2. Meet the doorbell; number 9 should show you where the reset is. I made the mistake of thinking it is on the side of unit but that’s the microphone. Hope that helps.
It says 100% wire free.. but i cant get it to work without it being connected to the usb charging cord. 😕 ☹️☹️ what am I doing wrong? How do you power it on? Help please!! Anyone!?
I just keep it plugged in. I have an outside wall socket almost directly underneath where I placed the doorbell and it's always charged by doing it that way. I don't know if that's good to do (anyone?), but this way, I don't have to worry about it. It's working great, btw.
@@loril.1257 True. But I wonder how many people actually screw this into the wall? I didn't and just use the 3M tape, which works just fine. I also don't live in a sketchy area, so it's pretty safe as is.
