This wireless mic system comes with TWO transmitters, is very affordable, sound really good and include noise reduction. So what's the catch? Watch and find out if they're a good fit for your content-creation needs.

Thanks! The clips on both the receiver and two transmitters are identical. However, they are designed so that the width of the clip fits nicely into a hot shoe. All you do is turn the receiver so the clip is underneath, then you pinch open the clip, just a small distance, and it slides right into the hot shoe.

Thanks for your kind words! To answer your question, it depends on how you're using this. If you're using it with a camera and a 3.5mm input, then go with the M1V2. have this mic but haven't been able to configure it right. It´s seems to be super sensitive. I turn the volumen up to level 3 on the mic and around 20 on the camera. What are your levels for this video outdoors and indoors?
@MatthewHaines
@MatthewHaines 4 месяца назад
Yes it’s sensitive, which I think is a good thing. The way camera inputs are labeled varies from company to company, so my -12 dB might not be your 20. Typically though, camera mic inputs aren’t great quality. So it’s best to have the mic signal strong and then back off on the camera input. I set my M1V2 at “2”, which is to say I set it to minimum (LED flashes) and then two clicks up.

@MatthewHaines
@MatthewHaines 9 месяцев назад
They do have a bunch of models, I agree! Basically, yer M1V series divides into one or two transmitters, and camera/iPhone/USB receiver versions. They recently released a new model that includes adapters for all three camera types, but I declined to review it for various reasons. Basically, pick what device you'll be using it for and go with that. :)

That's the microphone I chose. My only problem at the moment is that if I plug it into the phone, no audio sound on the phone comes out. So in a video chat they can hear me perfectly, but I can't hear the other party. If I choose hands-free during a call, the problem is that it disconnects the connected USB microphone. Do you have any ideas how I could use this microphone in a Zoom conference or in a car, for example?
@MatthewHaines
@MatthewHaines 5 месяцев назад
I know what you're talking about. The problem is that phones tend to be all or nothing: if something's plugged in, audio in AND out is routed to that device, even if it's not equipped to output anything. You could get a splitter cable to separate the headphones output and mic input, and then stick earbuds in your ears...which kind of defeats the purpose. These just aren't intended to be used that way, unfortunately.

@MatthewHaines
@MatthewHaines 11 месяцев назад
Hi! Unfortunately, I didn't test a phone-based version of these mics, so I don't have any direct experience with what you're describing. I do know that on many wireless systems where the receiver is plugged into (and powered by) a phone, they will shut off after awhile if the phone isn't active. They lose connection with the transmitter until the unit is powered up again. That might be accounting for the delay in getting audio. Does it happen even if your phone is unlocked and active? In any event, I would suggest contacting Boya and see what they say. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

@MatthewHaines
@MatthewHaines 3 месяца назад
Hi, Fatih! Thanks for watching. I tested the version that uses a 3.5mm cable. This is designed for camera inputs, but you could use this model with an audio adapter cable to your phone. Boya DOES make versions of this mic set that specifically plug into iPhone and Android phones, but I haven't tried those specifically. The audio quality is very good for the price. If you spend more money, you'lll get more features than this but not necessarily better sound. I made a short a few months ago that compares these and two other mic systems. Yes, that should work. The transmitters are both mono already, but when you set the receiver to “stereo”, on Tx is recorded left and the other to the right channel. I will say though there are better ways to record audio than by putting mics in front of speakers!

it is typically plugged into the mic input on your camera, or - with the right cable adapters - to your phone input. I'm not sure what you mean by line input. Like to an audio mixer? I don't think that would work because it's not a line-level signal being output.

Yes! It just means you have a little more cable hanging down from your receiver, and that you're using the analog signal rather than a digital one. Personally, I think that's a better option because you're not stuck with ONLY using the wireless system on your iPhone.

It’s unlikely. I have not tested the specific version of the M1 you’re considering, but normal background noise will usually be much louder than any digital vs analog noise. I do not find the analog output of the M1V2 to be particularly noisy. The phone versions are more for convenience in my opinion.
