In this video I chat with Alex from ‪@Reporterfy‬ about living in China, why we prefer it over our home country (Canada), why I stopped making videos, and a variety of other topics. Join us in this new experimental format where you listen in on our conversation as we catch up and take you along to see a small village on the outskirts of Chongqing China.

During the Hong Kong riots, you single-handedly started my red pill journey towards the truth after being brainwashed by Western media since birth. Truth matters and you have the unique ability to help people find that truth. It is absolutely important that you continue to help spread the truth about the world and help more people like you helped me. Thanks again Daniel.

Daniel, I live in Canada and there are Chinese diaspora here hating on China and their own Chinese people because of the propaganda. And we have Asian people getting attacked because of the lies. Your voice is important. Very few people have your ability to take complex issues and communicate it from a different perspective and make people reflect. When you speak it’s not just he said, she said. It’s thought provoking and make people look at things with a critical eye and think. That is far more important than you’ll ever know.

I remember you saying that one of the reasons you made videos was so your children would never grow up feeling ashamed of their Chinese heritage. I certainly hope you've accomplished that for your children, and I just want to tell you that you've done something similar for me. Your videos are a welcome, welcome respite against the massive propaganda shitstorm trying to make me feel ashamed of the Chinese part of my Chinese American identity, and I cannot thank you enough for the work that you do. I hope I can come have a beer in your brewpub one day! Cheers.

@ketracel Are you of partial Chinese ? the reason I asked is that I have never met a Chinese person in U.S. who says s/he is ashamed of her Chinese identity, although most of them don't say, they would hint it that they are proud of their Chinese roots. If you are part Chinese, may we know the other part (race and nationality etc) of your family? I am also interested to know if this is a general feeling among those who are of partial Chinese, I think this group of people are most susceptible to the media attacks given their surrounded family environment.

Hi Daniel, just wanted to let you know, you were the person that opened my eyes to extent of the false information in regards to what was really happening in HK. Your analysis was always very clear and factual and i honestly think you have a talent for getting the point across to your audience. I always thought you mind was extremely good at un-jumbling things and putting things into perspective. I was a little worried when you stopped uploading, however i totally understand the discussion on geopolitics and debunking western proprogxnda is taxing to the mind because its so damn frustrating. Definitely glad to see still you well and happy! You are right that the narrative can no longer really hurt China anymore and there is no stopping them from moving forward. "Actions speak louder than words", and in this case, i am starting to believe that their own proprogxnda is not hurting China but hurting themselves more. They have lied so much they are starting to become delusional and because of that they have become arrogant and are slowly falling behind. Anyway Thanks for your voice of reason! much appreciated! Take care.

its thanks to dan dumbril and alex and guys like george galloway, brian berletic, duran and tons of these guys these channels i cant name them all..... that fought back AGAINST the narrative initially, the barretts etc.... it was the foreign western faces that have enabled china to expose the narrative, to weaken, to nullify the narrative.... we were all thinking china isnt asgood at propaganda as the west lol and nobody would believe you..... thats how much and how successful western brainwashing is etc... if a chinese or asian face came out screaming and shouting and protesting about the western propaganda they would be drowned out and ignored! but it was thanks to the western youtubers heck youtube itself in a roundabout way the westerners themselves that have helped nullify and dampen the western propaganda.... why isnt china defending itself etc!! maybe this is chinas ultimate aim..... allow the citizens to stand up and prove and debunk the narrative and its worked, heck people like russell brand, whatever you think about him, jimmy dore, redacted, rich medhurst etc etc... china is too big too far advanced too in control to fall to the west

Welcome back Daniel. I miss your beard, but you are nice without it too. I started following you sometimes between HK and Xinjiang and always found your videos excellent. I can understand you having stopped making videos for a while. Life has an annoying tendency to come between our plans and reality sometimes. But I will continue to follow you and enjoy anything you can produce about China. There are plenty of people talking about the more 'purely' geopolitical stuff, but few people showing the simple joys and pains of daily life, and you have a very good eye and sensibility for that kind of stuff. Enjoy your trip! ❤

Hi Daniel, Just wanted to say that your content is invaluable in giving people the ability to seek a balanced view on issues. I treasure your views and the way you articulate them makes it easy I believe, for many to understand the issues at play. I eagerly look forward to your videos and the conversations that you have with the viewers and the people that you interview. While it is selfish on my part to request that you keep providing a voice of truth and reason, especially in the English medium, I do hope to have the opportunity to be able to continue to learn from your experiences. I think I speak for many on this. I think many viewers have also mentioned that you have the ability to help more people to open their eyes to the truth. To us, I'd say it would be a huge loss if we lost your voice, especially in this day and age of a very powerful western narrative. One of the most unforgettable videos you made was you methodically explaining the entire process of you getting interviewed by the Canadian reporter and exposing the problems on the report. Lastly, thank you. On a personal level, you opened my eyes. You helped me. Warmest regards from Singapore.

I came back here just to say this: This format is amazing. Two old friends having a day trip in a relaxed mood. A bit politcs chitchat, but there is no "political narrative". What I love the most is the casual conversations about personal experiences (you both are great narrators and great listeners). In the end, it is human experiences, not all those hallow ideologies and political arguments, that touches the heart and bring people together.

Daniel is absolutely right in saying that this momentum China is on including its thriving cooperation with the rest of the developing countries is just unstoppable now, and no amount of west led propaganda can change that. The global south (minus a couple of bad apples) has woken up to western imperialism and is working together to fight it. China is their hope and let’s hope China will assume this responsibility and fulfill its imperative role as a world leader to help create a multipolar, equitable world that the great Chinese philosophers have always envisioned. I also no longer feel the need to argue and debate with people online because people are so boxed in by their own world views anyway and you end up only preaching to the choir. But looking at the way the things are going today it’s only a matter of time that justice and truth will prevail, and we just need to sit back, live and let the chips fall where they may. Still, you were one of the most important and articulate voices during that critical period, and I’m sure opened the eyes of more people than you realize.

I think these casual talking videos are really good for sparking interest in these topics for people who are otherwise either not interested or unaware. Going all out on geopolitics trends to attract people who are already invested and that either have the same views as you or the total opposite view as you. So videos of you and your guest just casually talking about other topics and touches on your experiences in China and compare them to your experiences in the west it's a lot more relatable to most people. If you want to make more of this kind of videos. I think they would be tremedously valuable and interesting. One of the podcasts I recommend to most of my friends, that don't even care about these subjects is "The Honest Drink". They are primaerly a self improvement podcasts and the hosts are American Chinese that live in Shanghai. They almost never have episodes focused on the US-China tensions. But in almost every podcast they touch on experiences they have in China and they had in US. And just from that it becomes so apparent how much the Western media skewes and bends the truth. But whether you want to continue to make videos or just take a peek every once in a while or just quit youtube entirely (also understandable). I wish the best to you.
