Today I install my Wireworx tucked engine harness. There are not many good videos out there so I thought I would share! Please leave any questions you have below! I have a obd2a vehicle, with an obd1 b16 motor and a p28 ecu.
Very glad to see this is possible, I'm currently trying to get parts together to swap a OBD1 B16A from my 92 EG2 Del Sol SiR into my 97 OBD2A (was D16Y8) EH6 Del Sol ESi.
Interesting! In Australia you are not permitted to 'downgrade', that is, putting an older engine and ECU into a more modern car, mainly due to pollution laws.
@infotechplus1950 afaik there's no law against it here, but even if there were I highly doubt anybody would spot it from any of the testing agencies here. Funny story by the way, I ordered my engine mounts from Hasport around the time I made this comment and they arrived...yesterday 😂
Man where do you live? This series is unbelievably informative and extremely well done and I wish I had friends like you out here in Texas! I've been doing my B16a the same way.
Yo man if your ever make it over to wi I'd love to meet up and check out your car! It's a great build man and your videos and very informative.. I'm also rebuilding my ek again.. just an all motor lsv but everything is done the right way it's a pretty clean car especially for Wisconsin. Need some honda friends to cruise with!
what is the use for moving the plugs from the engine bay? i’m doing a 97 crv b20 in a 94 hatch and just installed my harness today. have 2 extra wires near the ecu and don’t know what they’re for. what is the use for the sub harness
i need help so i connect my harness but engine dont start i have no crank and everything else turns on light radio etc but no start on the car and im also not getting any fuel from fuel pump ?
I’m having trouble wit my harness I bought bc it dosent come with a wire that goes into the fuse box, yk how there’s two wires that run into the fuse box under the hood well the positive is one and it connects to the starter and the other it’s suppose to be with the engine harness but I don’t see it on my engine harness need help I hope he responds
i know this is old but where is the vtec oil pressure sensor? you had it plugged in already but didn’t show us. i bought the same harness and it doesn’t have a plug fornit
Hey buddy I'll fix the issue on the alternator, I just take my alternator plug and compare to your actual harness and boom somehow there was inverted wiring between the black and yellow and the straight white, just switch the wiring and now it's charging, thanks for your video, 🙏
I installed this harness on my car today and I am haveing a charge issue after installing the harness but my stock harness don’t have a solid white wire only winter and red and white and blue and white and green
Luckily for me it is very easy with an ob2a vehicle. I know for the OBD1 civics and integras there are 8 total wires you need to splice. Your best bet would be calling Wireworx because there is not enough solid info online. Wish I could help more man
8:59 ONE QUESTION 🤔 THE CABLE THAT IS CONNECTED IN THE FUSE BOX IN WHICH IT COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL HARNESS THAT'S HOW TO INSTALL IT WITHOUT THAT ANOTHER HARNESS DOES NOT COME WITH THAT CABLE
On index 7:50 to 7:55 you mentioned about the "sender". I think I mine (Honda Civic DX '97 coupe) got disconnected (and cannot reattached cuz it is broken) when I was reinstalling the transmission. What is the purpose of this one? Can I test run or start the car without it? Please advice.
The one wire coolant temp sender that I plugged in tells your gauge cluster needle where to be for your coolant temp gauge. The sensor actually gives the specific temperature to your ecu!
What year B series did you use for your swap? I'm currently in the process of getting everything together to start my swap. I have a 96 civic ex coupe and I was literally just going to try to find a 00 civic SI B16a for my swap or either a B20. But I'm looking for the easiest one to drop in to be honest.
wire-worx.com/stage-1-braided/52-k-series-non-milspec-engine-harness.html here is where I got my harness. You can select whatever options suit your chassis and build. It comes with the sub harness!
Have you figured it out yet? I run this kit, comes with a great diagram to help you. Basically your old fuel pump power wire will trigger a relay to allow a new power wire to run from your battery, through the relay, to your fuel pump. Then make sure your fuel pump, relay, and old fuel pump ground wire are grounded
Hey where did you get the sub harness? My tucked harness didn’t come with one and everything I find online for a “tuck harness sub harness” is just the main harness
What parts did you change to use obd1 ecu? Only distributor? Or u didnt change the dizzy at all? And what does the sub harness do? What does it connect
I have a obd1 ECU, obd1 distributor, and the sub harness connects the engine harness to the chassis harness. Usually it connects to the two big grey plugs on your shock tower, I pulled those plugs inside my car so I'm still connected to them but it's hidden
The water hoses don't get hot enough to melt the nearby wires, just make sure to keep those those wires away from the exhaust manifold! That will melt them and that is no good!
Did you completely remove the cabin harness going from the passenger side all the way to the driver side? Where did you get the sub harness? I bought a headlight tuck harness from Wireworx and I noticed the original engine harness has some of the same connectors as my headlight harness. I want to replace the engine harness too but not sure what I need.
So for my Wireworx OBD1 B/D series wire tuck kit. I did not have to remove any of the cabin harness. I pulled the two plug connectors from the shock tower, and routed them inside the car, which is where I connected the plugs to my subharness at the driver's side foot well. When you order an engine harness from Wireworx they ask you what chassis you are running, this is how they decide what subharness to send you with your kit.
Quick question so if I have a obd2a b18c1 in my obd2a 98 civic lx that I had to add a few sensors to the stock lx harness to be able to run vtec but I'm also running a obd1 chipped p28 ecu so my question is does the obd2 harness comes with the vtec sensors all built in the harness and would it be plug and play straight to the obd1 ecu?
Hey , quick question, in order to charge the battery can I run a wire from the starter to the alternator? Because I bought this charge harness and I run it from the fuse box and doesn't charge , it's a new alternator , has power on the terminal and the alternator but don't charge the battery , the round plug also has power in the black and yellow wire. Any help would be appreciated
Unfortunately I don't have a video, but it's really simple! Find any way to mount your battery secure in your trunk, connect the - terminal to any clean metal on the chassis. Then snake the + terminal through your interior into your engine bay where I would recommend you add a power terminal. Then from that terminal you need a power line to the fuse box, and a power line to the starter. And your set!
My car doesn’t crank atm after I’ve done everything in this video … the car would crank with the old harness but it doesn’t crank now with the tucked and sub harness does anyone know why that happens I’m extremely confused I would like any answer please and thank you …
Wireworx sends the sub harness with your main harness when you spec it out on their website. I'm sure they'll send a sub harness separately if you contact them
Can you help me out I'm trying to order the wire harness but I'm stuck on the part were I have to chose a Charge Harness they have like 4 options & idk what to click on? i was gonna choose / Integrated Charge Harness (NON MILSPEC + FUSEBOX IN CABIN ONLY) or i was just gonna Subtract $40.00 can you help me out or explain it pls & thanks
Yep! So if you still have the factory fuse box under the hood, choose to get the separated charge harness. That integrated charge harness option is for people who tuck their fuse box inside the car.
Hey buddy quick question if you don't mind I have a hatchback ek , I'll swap engine to b18b1, the t bracket for the tranny don't matter its from an automatic trans or has to be manual transmission, it's the same bracket the manual and automatic???
As long as the t bracket is made for a b series in an ek you'll be good auto or manual. If you used to have auto d series in there your old t bracket won't work. I had to get a new one when I went b series.
Hi, it doesn't fit I got 1 from crv and 1 from acura same engine but it was. Auto transmission and doesn't fit either, that's why my question if doesn't matter it's had to be auto or manual transmission.
I was thinking use the one from 99-2000 t bracket from civic si but I don't know the other ones there's to long if I put it in the transmission the motor mount it's to far away from the hole of the bracket
It is an obd1 gsr alternator! I was lucky to find one used! They are the best oem option since they put out the most amps. All the obd1 alternators have a green circular plug
Ok so I can just leave it alone? I don’t needa bypass it or anything? And my B18c is in my EG DX hatch. Do I need to tap the passenger shock tower harness to run vtec? And the driver side shock tower for anything?
@@kraftingkars thanks for getting back to me.... Yea my harness only had the main and the charge harness....I thought something was missing until I seen your video.
@@dominicschwarz3569 yes, I got the correct harness. The seller apparently forgot to include it with the main harness. The one missing runs under the dash like he said....
Hey krafting kars, do you have a social media account I can get a hold of you on? I’m in the middle of putting in and connecting my new harness and had some questions I can’t seem to get answers on. Also I saw your ride at HIN this year
