Power FC is a standalone that replaces the factory ECU. The cut wires are for emissions garbage that was added to US market cars. Exactly the wire colors you mentioned. The clean way is to depin them, but you can just cut em too.
@@huracanian3051 I think you only needed to cut them if you wanted to run the PFC while leaving the emissions stuff physically connected. Those wires lead to different items on JDM models (like parking lights, blower fan). If you didnt cut em all kinds of weird stuff could happen. Also its just one of the FD Rx7 quirks where things are different just because.
I see I'm a little late to this party... I've had an FD for a while now and have to do another rebuild, figured I would also go single this time. I'm in the early stages of sourcing parts but if you didn't end up using the FC and still have it I may be interested in that.
I think you might be ok with just touch up paint on some spots as long as there isn't any bare metal. Also might try gas as a cleaner with a paint brush on the engine; outside of course far away from any flame.
