Sorry man the 6.0 is in a completely different world then the 8.1. The 8.1 are absolutely monsters for any use except milage. Will double if not triple the 6.0 in miles before having tk be rebuilt. But nice service rig
What's the best thing to use for removing paint from the irons, the prior owner had it done, about half of it came off when I used the power washer at the car wash, any advice would be appreciated.
@@grizzy909 brake cleaner. Well clean it off, but that's also going to eat the silicone around your oil pan....if it's still in the car Use some mineral spirits and a scrub brush
@huracanian3051 it's outta the car & has been rebuilt already, I know I should have taken all the paint off before shipping it off to get rebuilt but I wasn't sure if the irons were in gd enough shape, it's all together, oil pan & some so I was wondering what's the safest & best way to go about it without disturbing any of the honda bond?
@@grizzy909 I use fingernail polish remover to clean stuff that's by silicone like Honda Bond and stuff cuz it'll eat the paint but not that silicone and if it's out of the car then you can just keep putting a scrub brush in the nail polish remover and scrub it off.. use like a green and red pillow pad. Are you going to repaint it? Use red scuff it all up as you clean it
@huracanian3051 Yes I am going to repaint it with brush on POR-15 high temperature engine enamel, I've heard good things about it unless you have any better ideas? while it's all built & ready to go makes for limited options I assume, btw thanks for responding so quickly
@@grizzy909 I used por 15 on my plow truck .. I don't know ... I did everything by the book and it didn't last one winner with the salt but I've had buddies do it and their trucks still look brand new from 8 years ago so I think it's a hit or miss on that
Damn that’s a rough one. I know it’s not the best route but I’d drill a hole in the frame big enough for a socket. I know it’s not the right way, but pulling the motor from the top or dropping it with the subframe takes time, and I’m lazy. I’d just turn the hole I drilled in the frame into a gusset or something for added strength.
honestly, iv never liked Tommy from day dot, he just had this arrogant f**ktard side to him that really got on my nerves every time i saw him in ANYONE else's video's, and if i was in America and he come at me like he has done to others, he would have been carried away on a stretcher and me in cuffs, i dont take shit from NOBODY, and when that shit with Ruddy went down, it concreted my concerns about him and his BS.....hence why Josh left Tommy's dumbarse as well, he is a true con artist, promised alot, delivered nothing....maybe he does work for the Government?, sucking d**k for tattoo's....LMAO
I see its a year old but this is probably the best video on RU-vid of someone taking this thing apart. Many impressive moments of using logic to determine what to do and assessing the situation. Excellent work
@huracanian3051 so what was the fix to this? Mines doing the same exact thing after changing out heads 1991 TT . Mine sounds the same and shuts off after short idle.
My 2011 has 6.0, I had my heads done by Texas speed, I installed a BT cam and lifter's and new timing set by BT, my exhaust was originally 3.5 diameter, 102 throttle body, Holley 42lb injectors, my air intake is stock, it already pulls fresh cool air from the outside. Remapped the ecm On a chassis Dyno I put down on the rear tires 511hp and 506 tq I also have 4.10 gears. I know aftermarket so called air intake are junk and using hot air from the engine compartment
Holy shit man, youve really been through it . Even before your accident. Insane that you still have such a positive outlook on life. Just discovered you after catching up on chris's vids from last couple years. I remember you kinda from tommys channel back in the day but fuck man . Juet watched the vids from that saga , hoping that you got you money back from "scamyeah". Youre a tough motherfucker lol
@@huracanian3051 If you have it and dont need it let me know or if you just have the one wish i could send a pic but cant on here. I older i dont have Instagram, Facebook, x im not on platforms
Hi first time RV owner I’m looking at a 09 sierra HD slt package crew cab with a 6.0 gas is that a big enough truck to pull a 5k toyhauler + 2k added for the Harley’s some of my pulling will be out west
Hey man just to let you know you don't look bad I know it's somebody else telling you that and it's what you think matters I'm just saying you look like a badass who works on cars I don't know you this is probably my third video of yours and the only reason why I even came over here was because of Chris and Tommy. And the only reason why I say that is because I have nothing to gain by telling you that
Good info & straight to the point! Looks like you are in Ohio? Working on a 97 sohc that has been sitting for a while & not getting fuel right now. Reason I ask about Ohio is I also have a 96 Spyder that has a hydraulic leak somewhere I can't find. Any experance with the Spyders? I'm just south of Newark.
S/o to this man for ruining two good RU-vidrs at there peak for a moment of fame because he can’t put his pants on by himself and then disappearing off all that drama for nothing go battle your diseases man ! Diddnt even sue him 😢
Random question, unrelated to how good this video was, did you ever figure out why the 2nd turbo wasnt transitioning? Spent a few months going through mine and its doing exactly that. Hard buck at 4500 rpm and no secondary.
No, I didn't. I looked too. I couldn't figure it out. To be honest with you ... It sucks.... Both My air tanks are good. They're actually brand new and I had no vacuum leaks. I don't know if just a vacuum line was crossed to the wrong solenoid or what but I couldn't take the time to figure it out. It just pissed me off so I ripped it all out 😂🤣
@@huracanian3051 went with the old school Hard to find Hks t51r spl (but it’s so big it’s hitting the frame and also lower intake mani as well as the hard water line .. do you have any experience or mods for this? I heard jdm lower intake? Just has the emissions delete that’s it I think
I owned a 3000 GT VR4 1992, same color. Fun car but had issues such as clutch and my timing belt broke and messed up my engine putting it in the shop for month. Still a very fun car.
@@user-mo1wr6ud1q o sorry I used to always have people tell me that I take way too long and it was boring and drawn out. So I just started doing a bunch of cuts from point to point .. 😔
No I'm sorry I don't remember. I was googling them. There's plenty of companies that make them... Those companies that you can just send your old one to in the upgrade it so it's the same bolt pattern and everything
Rolled my sisters stealth out the garage last fall sohc:/ but I still watch your vr4 videos because a boy can dream right? Can't find parts in michigan everyone's hogging them.
What do u mean ... You can't just go get a new one .. u can get one with low miles or you can rebuild one like I did mine 's technically all new nothing's original except for the block itself
