Wiring gives me migraines! Joe I’m happy that there are guys like you that enjoy digging into wiring! Look forward to learning about wiring unless my head blows up first ! 🤣😁
I've spoken with the guys at K&R. Their products seem to be of good quality and well thought out. I'm anxious to see how you like them. They also have what they call their Pro-Street kit now that has more switches and circuits including street car stuff like horn, turn signals and other auxiliary circuits.
That’s really cool. I’d like to check out their pro street kit. So far I’ve been impressed with this board that I am installing in the camaro. Instructions are good, wiring harness is nice and wires are labeled, etc.
Another informative video. Your attention to detail is ridiculous!!🔥🔥 I know you sit behind a computer to make a living, and your probably really good at that too, but we can all see what you're truly passionate about. I'll be the first to say it, I see a possible career change in your future? 👍😉 Looking forward to your future vids!
Very very good videos. I have watched all the wiring ones multiple times and ordered all the same components you use. Very helpful To me. I am about to take on my first attempt at wiring a complete car from scratch. What do you do when the Fueltech wire harness is not long enough to reach your battery and some of the other components in the rear of the car? It states in the manual that it must be connected to the battery with no seams? Does that mean I can use a butt connector to extend it, and I t just needs to be a sealed wire from end to end? Or does it mean that it needs to be one solid piece from end to end? Sorry if this seems like a simple question but I would rather ask a question and do it once and do it right. Thank you!
About to get started on mine. Holley ecu came in today. But the only holley crimpers I see are like $350. Im only going to do like 3 or 4 on the ecu and a few on the pro dash and probably never need it again
Nice video series idea Joe. If you'd like to one up yourself, put part #s to all of the tools & wiring products in the description, would be beneficial to viewers like myself that are getting ready to wire a car & looking for some of the supplies you're using. Keep up the good content! Oh one more thing, maybe a microphone in the future? 🤙🏼
Hi, Joe! Thanks for this and four other videos. A question about your non-insulated terminals. What are the terminals you call "one to many" (at 8:09 in the video)? Where do you get them?
Thanks for this, very informative. I do wonder why you don't solder? I was under the impression that soldering was best for connectivity and to prevent them coming apart. No?
They say solder is actually weak to vibrations and tension stress and will cause it to crack. A proper crimp with heat shrink is more “reliable”. I’ll be honest, I’ve done both for years. GM actually used to train techs how to solder wiring harnesses. I still solder in some instances...
What’s the overall price of doing this? I just bought a tube chassis car that came with no wiring except for the lights. I’m going to be using the terminator x so I just need the chassis wiring
@@StreetCarJoe I've got a little 98 S10 I'm gonna be introducing to my channel soon. Small tire street truck. I'm always looking for new tips on wiring (my greatest nightmare). This series will def help me out.
Joe, when building a complete new harness, are you just extending the constant 12v and 12sw from the standalone evu harness side out to your own source? So it'll have it coming off from the ecu? I'm trying to plann out mybsetupnfor a emu black /2jz
The no rely to a real question let’s me know this guy is just remaking a pointless video for the 1 billionth time who needs a video on how to plug and play out of the box harness… clueless nobody on RU-vid is actually “Wiring” a car especially the ECU guys
Do you use 2:1,3:1, heat shrink or just regular stuff? I think the 2-3 ones all have a Inder adhesive that will still all moisture from entering anyways
Fuel tech need to bring out a PDM. Using relays are a thing of the past. It adds so much unnecessary complexity to your wiring loom. Looks like a great build will be watching👍🏻
@@StreetCarJoe it can be done but you don’t see it much, here in Australia everyone is putting them in. Motec, haltech and microtech to name a few PDM’s. All the top cars are doing it, it’s a great way to future proof your race car. would be a shame to go to all that trouble wiring up relays and so forth, when you could simplify your wiring with a PDM. I know some people are on a budget😅😅 but it’s quite clear you have bought the whole fuel tech catalog.😃 Great build regardless.👍🏻
It can start as cheap as $2,000 or so and go all the way up to $6,000 or more in labor. Just depends on options, sensors, plug & play vs custom harness, firewall bulkheads, etc.
@@StreetCarJoe I'm getting my car rewired after a hack job was done and I'm paying $4500, sounds excessive, but the amount of time it takes makes sense...thanks for the content you're putting out, learning a lot
@@Yeah.Buddy. Thanks. Yeah $5000 is normally a pretty average number to wire a car. If you think about it that’s barely more than a week at a shop rate... adds up quick
