What if our cable does not have a blue wire, can we still connect to this without connecting anything to the blue to N, so just skip that.

I’ve a 32amp 5 pin socket on my gen and a 16 amp 4 pin on my lathe. How would you put a 32amp 5 pin on a 4 wire cable ( from the lathe ) do you just leave the neutral blank on the 32amp 5 pin plug?

For a 3 phase motor, u won’t need a neutral

Yes u will leave the neutral out in the 5 pin plug, but u will need to add a 16amp 3P breaker in between. I can only give u my personal knowledge and opinion. Please seek a professional electrician for any further advice.

Hey can you do a video, making a lead wiring a 3 phase 32amp to a single phase 16 amp cee form tyle Blue plug, thanks. As far as I know you can take any of the phases and the neutral and earth but I would appreciate some confirmation. I have access to 400v 3 phase 32amp in this format on your video. But I need single phase 32amp although 16amp will suffice atm untill I get a dedicated 32amp line in it's for a welder so 16amp will do unless I'm hitting the highest end of the power envelope of my unit. Sorry for a late reply, I am currently extremely busy ~ I will plan it out and will create a video asap! U can pull a 32 amp single phase line out of a 3 phase 32 amp line.

Depends if the supply is 3 phase 32 amp u can get 3 x 32 amp single phase out of it

@@k-30creator20 That's perfect, yes it's 3Phase 32amp, I've wired a 3phase 32 amp to a single phase 32amp using L1 Neutral and Ground. I was thinking of making up a box using panel mount Sockets with 3 sockets for convenience, 1 x 32amp and 2x 16amp Sockets, running a different live to each and common the neutral and ground.

Hi thanks for this video it is helpful and informative. Please I have a cooker hub that comes with a 5 cable(2 live, 2 neutral and 1 earth) to be connected to a 32amp socket to have it work, any heads up for me on this?

No worries, yours isn’t a 3 phrase hob. All you need to do is to connect both of the live to L on ur 32 amp plug and both of the neutral to N on ur 32 amp plug. The reason why manufacturers do that, is to reduce cost on cables.

I see the confusion of colours, with bs standards its RYB and black for neutral, the brown blue and black its a Chain standard plz

Different countries have different wiring coding systems. Both in the UK and in Hong Kong under BS7671: L1 is brown, L2 is black, L3 is grey, N is blue, E is yellow/green

For OLD colour coding in the UK and Hong Kong under BS7671: L1 is red, L2 is yellow, L3 is blue, N is black, E is yellow/green (THIS IS THE OLD COLOUR CODES)

Thank You. Very Informative Video. I have clour combination BROWN 🟤 BLACK ⚫ Gray, Blue 🔵 and Green 🟢 how set L1 L2 and L3. The Vehicle on which I work is a Govt. Owned vehicle and it is from Germany. I was confused about the clour code but now watching your video I clearly understood.
