Recorded off the cable by SignOffsGuy while staying in Cheraw, South Carolina, my adopted hometown. Sadly, I failed to record the WIS-TV sign-off, which was the same as the 1989 sign-off with the John Wayne piece, but it employed the station ID graphic featured in this video.

WDAZ TV used to air that sign on too, before they switched to digital!

PBS station KMOS-TV Ch. 6 in Sedalia\Warrensburg, MO used to air that same SSB clip before sign-off untill 2009. They had also briefly aired a remasted HD version (Before going back to the version seen in this video.) that had a slightly different musical variant to it sometime in the mid-to-late 00's.

KMOS-TV would also have one of their on-air personalities reading off the stations technical information & address over the SSB. They also had a onscreen station id superimposed at the bottom of the screen.

The John Wayne sign off was sooooooo much better! Why did they switch?

I think they still used that one at sign-off and this one for sign-on (which is a great clip as well!).
