Brandon’s voice is one of a kind, up there with Chris Cornell, Benjamin Orr, Layne Staley, Robert Smith, Chester Bennington and Freddie Mercury. In my humble opinion.
As a bassist myself, I always find it disappointing when a great bassist doesn’t get the screen time the rest of the band gets. Those bass runs are on 🔥 🔥 🔥
I love Incubus and this song, but the harmonies aren't sang live, they're pre-recorded, look some seconds behind when the hook begins, Mike forgets to mimic the harmony singing and it does sound anyway
Brandon is the most underrated song writer and artist. This band is AMAZING and deserves to be up there with the best of them . Yet nobody will ever top Chris Cornells voice. But this band is worthy of more than then the public realizes. Brandon is amazing but never can compare to Chris Cornells voice. And this is coming from someone who's FAVORITE BAND IS INCUBUS. yet my heart still hurts for Chris.
@@mattrock12 you’re telling me 2:06 is backing vocals? You can clearly see Mikes mouth move at 1:26 , 1:30 , 2:06 , 2:18 … Ive never heard Incubus accused of lip synching before
@@slat.r Unfortunately, yes. It seems they are using backing tracks. Nobody else in the band is stepping up to any mic's other than Mike. And while he's doing a great job "looking" like he's singing, and I don't know if maybe his flub around the 2:59 mark threw him off, but it seems he forgets he's supposed to be pretending to sing immediately following that. He's not only well away from the mic, but he misses a few lines completely and only returns to "singing" around the 3:10 mark mid-sentence. And absolutely nothing changes before or after this slip. Kinda sucks to see. I mean, I could maybe give them a pass if they copped to it, but it's when they fake it that it bothers me further. Cheers, man.
Welp, here I am coming in 12 years later, but it’s not because it’s new. It’s because I’m a music buff who was recently asked to comprise a list of the top 10 live versions of songs - I would want my children to know upon my d**th. There are many songs I love, but it’s the je ne sais quoi that makes a live performance of a favorite song worthwhile. Bravo.
Miracle- Actually it’s a track making a harmony. It’s him singing in the track, that the key parodist is playing, but he is singing live too (doing the other harmony).
Can't wait!!!!!!! New Zealand in April!!!!!!!!! Rock on some of the best lyrics and dictation in this day and age. Let alone the fabulous entire section..A
I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when they were debating naming this song with the same name of one the most successful albums and songs of all time.
Your voice will be with you for a life time mine has been. It all starts in High school with being in a band and before in choir. I used to sing Led Zepplin at 15yrs old pretty gutsy for a girl I was in the battle of the band's in central NY. My nephew is lead the new lead singer for Boston! Singing runs deep for generations in my family..
I'm glad that my nephew always reminded me of Brandon, which brought me here, 20(?) years later. It looks like the band is all still there, they all look amazing, play amazing and are still going strong! Thank you, nephew, for being a big turd and cutting all of us out of your life!
Just watched them at the royal albert hall, ngl almost started crying when they came out in mostly the same clothes with that same rug and played similar edits to their songs. What a privilage to have a chance to step back in time.
I was and will never forget it. I came here looking for a video from the night. All these years have gone by and it’s still one of my all time favorite musical moments I’ve ever had.
I love this song so much, even though it always makes me think of my baby brother, I miss him more than anyone can fathom ! But even with the pain it brings I still feel all the joy and elation of the times my brother and I experienced.
the 2nd verse and the bridge are the worst. constant opening of the high hat, and sixteen note rests on the high hat as well. its taken me so long to actually get it down
I dig my toes into the sand The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket I lean against the wind, pretend that I am weightless And in this moment, I am happy Happy I wish you were here I wish you were here I wish you were here I wish you were here I lay my head onto the sand The sky resembles a back-lit canopy with holes punched in it I'm counting UFOs, I signal them with my lighter And in this moment, I am happy Happy I wish you were here I wish you were here I wish you were here Wish you were here The world's a rollercoaster And I am not strapped in Maybe I should hold with care But my hands are busy in the air saying I wish you were here I wish you were- I wish you were here I wish you were here I wish you were here Wish you were here
I was there Thank you very much. I met some awesome people while there including the boys of Incubus. To those talking shit about the crowd, you weren't there, so you have no idea what it was like: keep hating!
ok lot's of guys I have been saying on youtube hot. But this guy . . . He is my ultimate. My dream. He works so hard. You can see how he has been at it for a while. One of his current vids has streaks of gray in his hair. He deserves more than he is getting. I have kept them, him, in my heart for a long time. Keep on keeping on Incubus.
