To round off my new year movie specials, here's my choice for 10 Stephen King stories that haven't been adapted into movies yet, but that I think should be - no more remakes! No more sequels! Original stuff please!
This video is spoiler-free and I'd love to hear YOUR choices for stories that need to be adapted.

Duma Key is a big favorite!! I’ve read it more than once, and the movie version is so clear in my head, I even have a song picked out for the closing credits!! 😊

Ari Aster would definitely be a good choice to adapt Revival. It's my all-time favorite King novel and I think it could do well either as a movie or maybe like a two-part miniseries.

Duma Key? You bet. Would also suggest The Institute. If done well, an opportunity to cast some relatively unknown and talented young actors for the children's roles.

Agree totally about Rose Madder, Revival and Duma Key. From the short stories I'd love to see The Jaunt, N. and Mrs Todd's Shortcut (also as anthology episodes probably).

Eyes of the Dragon an intriguing choice. Reading Fairy Tale now, which also could be an interesting adaptation for the big screen. Oh, and The Long Walk for sure.

Great list! Revival by Aster would be the perfect amount of terrifying. I’m gonna second someone who said The Jaunt would be great but more as a short film just because of the nature of it. Although it could be longer than you think.

I think the Jaunt could be a terrific 80-minute movie for sure - I have a feeling a short would just be a little unsatisfying

Yes to Duma Key and Joyland! Both as miniseries. How about Desperation? Has that been done? That could be fantastic...... and a suggestion just to rile you up.... Wind Through The Keyhole.

I wouldn’t mind a keyhole adaptation - could be fun! As for Desperation, yes, there’s a Mick Garris miniseries from 2006. It’s…not great!

I first read "Rainy Season" in the mid-90s. Back then I imagined Michael J. Fox playing the guy in the youngish couple.

Talisman/Black House/and the finish to it. (I know you have a different opinion. I think a TV series would be the way) Desperation Regulators (how crazy could that crazy book become as a movie) Rose Joyland D Key (hell yeah) Dark Tower (I refuse to acknowledge the crap that was put out) UR, Everything Eventual, Little Sisters (maybe put those into the Dark Tower series) Insomnia Revival

Well thank you the only reason that me and my friends are making our movie adaptation A Long Walk isn't to make money or anyting one we're doing it for fun we just want to do something fun this Summer that is Stephen King related and we figured doing a movie adaptation of the Long Walk would be something good to do we're also doing it so you know we don't have to wait for actual movie because that's going to take a long time which is understandable

I have a few King stories among my favorites that I wish would get adapted. First is Insomnia, second is The Talisman, and third is the novella Hearts in Atlantis though it would need to be called something else as Low Men in Yellow Coats used that movie title for some reason. Of your suggestions I would love to see Duma Key the most. Please Mike Flannigan make this movie!

Some good shouts there - the Long Walk is being filmed this summer! There are also already adaptations of Desperation (2006, directed by Mick Garris, not great) and Lisey’s Story (2021, Apple TV, absolutely majestic).

The Breathing Method actually had a movie in development, which is now basically canceled. It was getting an adaptation, but it won't happen now.

How about Willa from Just after Sunset. That is a sad, tragic ghost story/love story just begging to be turned into film. It would beat the hell out of Sixth Sense, that's for sure.

I feel like Suffer The Little Children could use the upcoming Boogeyman movie treatment. I always felt that story could be expanded more and be made into an awesome horror movie.

I’m not so sure about it being a full movie on its own, just because of the nature of it being almost an extended joke, that sucker punch at the end works really well in short format. However, make this one story in an anthology movie and I think you’re into a real winner!

Have you seen Guillermo del toro's cabinet of curiosities? It's an anthology series of eight about an hour films. I think stephen king shorts would be perfect for that format. I hope someone does it ahh

Believe it or not, they've actually been trying to adapt The Breathing Method for about ten years. Scott Derickson left the project, meaning the movie is basically canceled.

I got a question for you buddy. The Dark Tower when Ted is telling his story from the gingerbread house. He mentions Tanya Leeds from Colorado. She is now married, and content as a Breaker. I haven't read Colorado Kid. I am curious if she is from the Colorado Kid, or any other SK book?

The rights to Joyland were sold a couple of year ago. I don't Remember who bought them or how long ago it was. All that you love will be carried away is one of Stephen King's dollar babies. It probably has been adapted a few times, however do to the nature of dollar babies, the general public is not allowed to see them.

Have you seen the trailer for The Boogeyman? It looks nothing like Kings story, but it has a decent cast. I feel this won’t be David Dasmalchians only Stephen King movie, he’s got that creep factor that most King stories have and I can just see him in about any King adaptation.
