Miss Diahann Carroll did not disappoint in person. A NYC Cosmopolitan pioneer for blacks, starting in 1951, representing Black excellence, sophistication, talent & dignity. She was the 1st African American woman to: - star in her own comedy series as a Nurse in 1968 for “Julia” - be nominated for an Emmy - win a Golden Globe - win a 1962 Broadway Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for “No Strings” - appear on “Dynasty” R. I.P. - I hope that her legacy is written about by all children for Black History Month
